we have gotten winterized stuff to wax up... so this claim people make that the only reason it waxes up is because of the plant waxes is completely false... Guzias has done it repeatedly i believe
60+ grams of oil covered in vacuum pump oil..

Has anyone ever made some true glass like I speak of? It has kinda pulling me to the dark side, I'll try to get some pics, but just imaging the texture of something that's at 40* but its like 90* here in San Diego.
I told them to do a mirror run with coffee filters to see if the fabric was the cause..
Have you read the manual? Opening the gas ballast while pump is running I'm pretty sure is standard operation

"Glass" we refer to as shatter I believe. And yes we do.. my stuff is "glass" at room temp and will shatter to bits if you mess with it... its not uncommon at all when working with polar solvents that don't like to pull waxes and such .. winterizing a non polar extraction will also yield shatter. Most important to this "glass" is filtration. I finish with a micron syringe.. even a huge chunk is completely translucent without light shining on it. My stuff is usually bright red or clear with a hint of gold coloring.......
This stuff was made with butane which is a non polar solvent right?,
Because they didn't winterize and there's stuff is brought gold color and see threw.
I would love to replicate what they did.
Also where could I get a micron syringe?

Yea butane is a non polar solvent,a hydrocarbon. I got mine on eBay for 20 bucks, I actually got it to turn shitty mexi brick into hash oil. They remove mold spores bacteria dust ect and really improves the product.....
The dirtier (i mean plant specs and crap, not a long soak and dirty extract) the less it likes to stick to itself.it can appear grainy after evap or crystally.. When completely pure it is a complete solid at room temp and isn't very sticky, preferring to stick to itself. Upon heating it becomes viscous like water. And like water there really isn't a noticeable transition change it goes from solid to liquid. Any goo in my opinion is caused by impurities within...was talking bout this just yesterday..if you can scrape up your product after evap with out it shattering flying all over the room you've done something wrong

good thing its free powerwe can argue till we turn blue in the face about leaving the pump on or not... the facts are, my stuff seems to wax up faster then yours and looks significantly better...
lol yeah, because im sure your wax is dependant on the vacuum time lol... its the starting material man. you grow weed (I think) and get large fresh amounts on the daily. thats it.
I use the crumbs that are left in the half lb bags of bud when theyre gone. ive had oil wax up in under 12 hours, have also had 10g puddles take a week with barely any added heat. I bet at 120F it woulda taken a day or so. what does that have to do with anything??
either way, wax is retarded. making the best wax is like winning the special olympics... its still shitty and retarded compared to winterized absolute amber. youre high in plant waxes and low on terps.... sounds awesome. I wish I would have taken pics of the chunk of winterized amber I just smoked, so smooth and tasty.
I just fail to see how maxing your pump out, then letting it run has ANY benefit other than removing the initial degassing of the oil which is gone in the first few minutes anyways.

We get 0.45 and 0.2 micron syringe filters from American Scientific. They can supply glass syringes as well, but we have found both filters and syringes cheaper on E-Bay.

Buy a MICRON GAGE or you have no idea what sort of vacuum you have pulled, running you pump to death isnt going to do anything except pull air through your leaky cylinder.

Thats the one from harbor freight right? how much is that?
I have a mighty vac hand pump hooked in on a T to tell me in/hg but thats all i have right now.
I definitely need to go to harbor freight and get that set of manifold gauges.
also with this new pump i have "edwards e2m-1" it says it needs ultragrade 15 oil? This means I need to go find this specific type? Not just regular high vacuum oil?

dear lord what did i start, i have an aspirator because im not purging tane. so running my water pump full on isnt a oil mist biohazard or destructive to my non harbour freight jet pump.if i was using narlier solvents the 28.5 to full vac would make more of a difference. i think i vac prolly cuzz i wanna be up in vac talk.

yes from HF and they have vac pumps there too that are good. the manifold is like 29.99 or 39.99 not sure and the pump was 154.99. when you buy the pump it comes with some and i bought a liter of it from amazon for 7 bucks

ummm i dont think i have said that anywhere, usually when i quote someone i can site where it came from, and my suggestion of leaving it running is to get to the wax more quickly not that it is the key to making wax...

I got these manifold gauges from harbor freight and all i can say is i will be returning asap,
The gauges i use now are more accurate, it doesn't have a micron reading at all its just a tiny in/hg gauge.
The ones im using now are the ones from the mityvac hand pump at harbor freight. its a full size 0-30in/hg gauge pretty descent, more accurate in my eyes.
This one i bought i though had a micron gauge, but i should of known the HF isnt that cool.
is my only option for a micron gauge online?
