  • Hi Kevin, I'm Rafal from Poland, I bought one of your awesome T2-2100(cxb3590) at a time, but lost my lamp and need to build a new one. I'm in a 3x3, looking at 1000-1200ppfd, was going for 4 x 3500k 80cri Vero29C (BXRC-35E10K0-C is this the right one?), but I'm confused on choice of a Meanwell driver to get most efficiency of it. I'd rather run one driver per 4 cobs. Can you please help?:)
Hey @Rahz I just recently got a 300w tasty led from a friend. I was wondering if i could change out the cxb3590 to different spectrum cobs? Also a fan went out where do you recommend I purchase 1. Thank you so much your light kicks ass. 6 cobs in a 2x4 is outstanding. Thank you again.

Yes, you will need to remove the case to switch the fans out.

Hey @Rahz is it the 120mm 38mm or the 120mm 25mm fan? Thank you so much I know its not your problem so thank you

Sorry it took so long to answer, they are 120 x 25mm fans.
Just wondering if you are still making lights? The light I got from you seems to be the best cob. Interesting in a light you could build for me. Thanks
Hey, was building a system to compliment my aero unit I've had sitting collecting dust for the last few years. Was hoping to get some insight on over lighting for periods of time but with a slowly shifting led platform. Have read a bunch of stuff you've posted and have gotten good ideas, but just wanting to ask a few question on what you think

Hi Captain, I'm not very active on the forums any more. Post a thread in the LED section and you should get plenty of replies. I'll look for your post next time I'm on.

    Cheers
Hey Rahz, I was wondering if you had any advice on where I could learn to build my own cob led setups? I'm in dt SD if that matters. Thank you!

    Hi Rahz.
Say... are you the Tasty Led guy that i bought a few T4-2100s off of a couple years ago? If so then... i was wondering if those bars can be dissasembled without too much fuss? The reason i ask is one of the two fans on one bar has quit. Prolly a connection? All 4 cobs work and 1 fan. Figure i can fix it, but

Hi Gquebed, 3/32 hex driver to remove the outer screws. Carefully remove the heat sink til you see the wires. Disconnect the wires. 5/64 hex driver for fan screws and 11/32 wrench for fan nuts. Either a connection or fan needs to be replaced, or driver (if your model has two). If not a connection, try connecting the fan to the other driver (if two). Let me know what you figure out.
im new to this and want to grow my medicine, ive never grown but have alot of knowledge, what light would you reccomend i have 100-150 low budget

For that price right now I would suggest a Quantum Board 96 Elite v2. Pair it with either HLG-120H-54 or HLG-150H-54.
Hey how's it going. I understand very little about LED but I'm learning. I'm running 12 hps 1000w lights and would love to lower my power bill and keep the same yield. Definitely not the best with tools so I would like to play LED rights that's ready to roll. Can you help me on which would be the best buy. Thanks.

These are 1000w single ended bulbs?

    Yes. Sorry. Single ended

Hi stavi23, I think we spoke earlier. If not feel free to PM me or give us a call at 828-358-9495
I would like to get in contact with you about a LED for a 2ftx4ft grow tent BUT your email (contact@tastyled.com) wont work for me. Everytime i try to send you an Email i get it right back...

Sorry about that. I just send an email to that address using another account and have been receiving mail. It's possible the mail server was temporarily down. Please give it another try and let me know if it fails again.
Hey, looking for some guidence, planing to light up a 4x4 with cxb3590 3000k 80 cri, i'm interested in max efficincy so should i use 12 or 16 cobs with a dimmer, which driver would you suggest? (3 MEAN WELL HLG-320H-C2100B?). Also does pin heatsink size matter? 140mm vs 180mm? can the cob benefit from a larger pin heatsink than it watt recomends?
    Rahz
    Rahz
You need to do some more research. Cree no longer has the best or cheapest cobs. Citizen, Bridgelux both have better products. Heatsink size does matter but it depends on cob wattage.
    Hi Rahz!

Huge fan of the multiple CRI grow I saw the results of. I'm about to pull the trigger on my cobs (leaning 52volt V22s for $14, unless there's a solid reason not to) and was wondering if you could give me some CRI/PARw advice.
2 tents, one 4x2x6 for veg and 60"x31"x84" for flower. 3 plants DWC.

Any clear flaws/improvements you'd make? Trying to make the most effective light I can for the money I'm going to spend, and all I have backing this up is dozens of hours reading forum posts. Thanks for any help you can give!

The veg is overkill, just incorporate a dimmer knob.

The flowere lamp k/CRi will average out to about 3330K 86CRI. Will produce very nice results but I would stick w 3000K myself.
    Hey Buddy,

I am doing a first grow and was recommended by Olive Drab to use your COB lights. I initially bought two 300W Viparspectra's but i want my grow to flourish, and i realize these VP are low end.

In a 4X2 grow tent, which light should i use of yours and how many? I was looking at the T2-v362.

Thanks a bunch for your time

And if u gona do cob led the whole cycle. I suggest getting a fluorescent grow light that you can stand. Vertically in the corner of your tent so the middle gets enough light

@Boston Mike You definitely don't need HIDs for transition. Disregard that, Magus. I harvested damn near a pound using only 241w of COBs (270w including fans.)
Hi Rahz! Was told you were the man for info, can you help me out? ;)

So I thought about 5 50v vero 29's with a HLG-185H-C700B. Seemed like an ok setup with my limited budget for a DIY project. (Tho my understanding of amp/watts/drivers, etc sucks still) I have a 3'x 4' grow tent I'm building. What exactly am I looking at... 2 plants? 4? Too under-powered to grow anything? So little understanding... ugh.

200w would be reasonable for a 3x3, and will still be okay for a 3x4 but if you can I would get the wattage closer to 300.

There should be a like button just below this text :)

I swear, the like button wasn't there before, haha. Any suggestions on a setup for getting up to that threshold of 300?
    Rahz
    Rahz
    Same setup with a HLG-320H-C1050B

Or if you can spend more use 2 HLG-120H-C700s with 4 cobs each.
Oh one more question. I have been reading that with led the Room temps should be higher than hid, around 80-85 degrees. Is this true?
    Rahz
    Rahz
Canopy temps should be around 85 with lights on regardless of light source. You should be able to achieve that in a tent without having the room temp at 80-85.

Room temperatures definitely do not get hotter with COB than HID. HID utilizes heat to produce light. COB is solid state and uses electroluminescence.
