I had a brain tumor in 1993 at the age of 5. The trauma from the subsequent surgery brought on a secondary neurological disease called Dystonia. The disease causes painful and prolonged muscle spasms, severe speech issues, loss of crucial fine and gross motor skills, depression, and a whole host of other horrible symptoms. Despite this, I graduated from Oregon State in 2009, with a B.A. in English. I am 25 now and looking for work until I get into law school.
