    Finally, an outdoor grow

Not a monster, but a modest success. I do fine indoors, but I suck outdoors. Always something. Bugs, tropical storm, wind, rain, all of the above, and bud rot. But this one looks .. ok. Strain is Wedding Cheesecake auto, fabric pot, soil is FFOF and coco with a healthy dose of perlite. I tried...

    My modest summer grow

I've been growing indoors for years, because I suck at growing outdoors. Every summer I try a new grow, and it always ends up a flop. Aphids, worms, heavy rain, high winds, chipmunks. But I think I might have a winner this summer! Strain is a Wedding Cheesecake I started indoors in my tent...

Dispensary weed in Ma is so cheap, is it worth growing anymore?

I've never heard of $20 an ounce, but $50 seems common, esp when it's on sale. But I'll bet if you have a medical card, combined with a veteran's discount, it wouldn't surprise me if it was lower than $50. A buddy gave me some dispensary bud to try. It was very dry, and burned really fast...

    Auto, or is it?

I only grow indoors. I prefer the controlled environment. Every summer I try one outdoors among my tomatoes. Usually ends up a flop for a variety of reasons. Short NE growing season, too much rain, wind. Here's one of my fav strains. Wedding Cheesecake by 420 Fastbuds. But is it? Could it be...

Should I mulch my marijuana plant?

I normally grow all my marijuana indoors. I prefer the controlled environment. But I decided to try one outdoors this summer. One of my favorite strains, Wedding Cheesecake auto, in a 50/50 mix of coco and FFOF. My wife and I are avid gardeners. We grow 40 tomatoes each year, and heavily mulch...

Anyone ever try growing marijuana seedlings in these?

I tried growing some of my garden veggies in these this year, and what a pleasant surprise. Add water to the pods, put in the seeds, cover with plastic dome, and place under a grow light. Easy peasy. One week later, here you go! Seedlings in the photo are cukes. Why wouldn't this work on marijuana?

    It's happening again

This happened to me a couple years ago. And it's maddening. I've got my last 2 autos that should be well ready to harvest. Gorilla Cookie and Ztrawberriz. The problem is, I'm into day 107. I closely examine the trichomes every other day under my microscope. They're a 50/50 mix of clear/cloudy...

    Day 105 Ztrawberry

It's day 105. We didn't want to risk any bud rot like I had with Gorilla Punch. Looked at some under the microscope beautiful trichomania!

    Gorilla Punch super bud

Well, the news was not all good. Notice the red line. Everything above the red line had the dreaded bud rot. I should have known better, but I was waiting for the trichomes to cloud up. But the good news was, everything below that line was perfect. Interesting footnote. I checked out some of...

    pH meters, new v old?

I've got an ancient Blue Lab pH meter. I paid about $300 for it back in the day. It's old, cumbersome, clunky, needs to be calibrated a lot, has a bunch of wires that are always tangled. But it works. But now I see these pockets size pH meters made by reputable companies. Claim high...
