I have run into a white mold slime... way back in the grow a snotty looking blob in the water ... changing the water weekly has kept such at a minimum... roots don't have slime or smell, and many are totally white.. course many more are off-white/tan. What exactly is Ecofix ?

As far as the NPK numbers go they are a ratio. I could be wrong here, but I beleive that a tablespoon of 16:16:16 added to a gallon of water will behave like four tablespoons of 4:4:4 added to a gallon of water.
