My tap is indeed 1,000+ppm. Water was a primary concern before starting and I went through my three options twice with NLS and was told that all 'should' be fine (salt softened tap 920ppm, inline garden hose filtered tap 1,000ppm or straight tap 1,100ppm). I should have trusted my instincts...
