* I've revised my original design a little...
Chillers are expensive, so I've decided to pro-long its life and NOT run nutrients through it...
With a 400 GPH water pump I'll circulate RO H2O through this closed loop system from an insulated 5 Gallon chiller reservoir to 1/4 HP Active Aqua water...
Thanks 5BY5LEC for the diagram...
I have multiple Bluelab Guardian Monitor Connects to show values when I'm home or away of both my RDWC systems in mirrored perpetual grows...
They are mounted in-between my (4'x4' VEG Tent) and (6'x6' Flower Room) on a suspended wall hanging from the ceiling...
• The reason I have a manifold is to keep everything neat and tidy as well as being able to easily drain the system...
• The sample pot is a very important part of any monitoring/dosing system. I will mount this sample pot on the wall near the controller, and place the pH and/or EC probe into...
Hey Everybody,
I'm at it again with another DIY RDWC build... :)
I've been wanting to build this for a very long time... Finally gonna pull the trigger!!!
Please keep in mind that this build is for my 4' x 4' VEG tent...
I plan on building the same but with 13 Gallon EZ STOR Buckets for my 6' x...
Revised the layout yet again...
Here is my latest design for my 6'x6'x7' flower room:
• Moved sample pot.
• Moved water pump.
• Moved drain.
• Moved manifold system.
I've been revising yet again...
Here is my latest design for my 6'x6'x7' flower room:
• Moved 2" return & 1" waterfalls closer to the outer wall for more room to maneuver around plants.
• I removed the 400GPH water pump.
• Added a sample pot for testing pH, EC & water temperature.
• Added valves...
Thanks fragileassassin, Was originally thinking of only running 1 water pump, but heard not to pump directly from chiller to grow sites through the waterfalls because of the temperature differentials. Also wanted lots of pressure to grow sites is why I went with 1000 GPH, but it may be too big...
I'm building a new DIY RDWC build. Should it be:
(a) just like the picture in the attachment...
(b) kind of like the attachment, but 2 bulkheads on each bucket
(c) more like a "Current Culture" kind of setup with an undercurrent...
(d) try this...
Thanks for the advice DarthVaper84... I guess I'm always concerned that my 1" return will clog and cause a flood. So as a precaution, I have a couple 1" bulkheads for each bucket. If I get a clog, will give me time to catch it before any issues arise. Also, if on unlevel ground, water will find...
