How do outdoor growers keep their plants clean and bug-free?

We have smog, ash from fires, dirt the dog has kicked up, etc. on top of any creepy crawlies that might be in the mix. It all gets on our organic vegetables, as well.

Do any Outside growers try and keep plants Low

I try to keep my plants lower than my 6 foot fence, but don't always succeed. Things that help: multiple toppings, supper-cropping, scrog nets, smaller pots, not starting too early in the season.

How do outdoor growers keep their plants clean and bug-free?

The title of this thread made me laugh, because the answer is: you don't! You just manage it the best you can. Plenty of good advice on that in this thread already. Do you wash an apple before you eat it? I sure do. All my outdoor bud gets washed at harvest.

Will cuttings root outside in these temperatures?

Yes. As long as you are at or above 55F you're good. They may just take longer.

Flower about a month under lights, then move outdoors?

I veg under lights; then move outside to flower. (I use the gas lantern technique to veg them for a few weeks longer once moved outside.) But you're already flowering under lights? I guess, I don't understand why you would want to move them out now?

Help! Caterpillars make a grown man cry!

September is caterpillar season around here. The out of place brown sugar leaf is usually the first indicator of their damage. Remove the entire affected nug from the stem and pitch it. Then inspect the surrounding nugs for caterpillar poop. These will be the next to start molding. Any nug with...

Keeping outdoor plants in veg using artificial lights at night?

I sprouted these 2 on March 8 & 9 in the greenhouse. The lights in the greenhouse run from 6am-11am and then come on again at 4pm-10pm giving them a 16/8 light schedule. (The greenhouse only gets indirect sunlight in the back half where my plants are and it’s too hot to run the lights midday.)...

Keeping outdoor plants in veg using artificial lights at night?

It worked well. I have repeated the procedure in another part of my yard and had success there as well. Like I said, I'm using 10w LEDs that are very directional and I can aim it on a specific area and not bother plants in flower in other parts of the yard.

Plants revegging/flowering, what would u do?

If it was me I'd let them go, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't interested in seeing what happens.

    To late???

Depending on the cultivar, you can lollipop as late as the 2nd or 3rd week of flower, but not after.

    When to transplant outside

On 4/20 if they're little sprouts or seedlings, and one month later if they're older than that. Easy stoner math, lol.

    Weather

Fabric pots seem to do better than plastic ones in the heat, but in ground is definitely the best. I kinda split the difference and cut the bottoms out of my fabric pots. Air temp doesn't seem to affect the plants too much until you get over 110F. Like Mandocat said it's the root zone that...

Keeping outdoor plants in veg using artificial lights at night?

I'm doing this now; it seems to be working. Planted seeds in the greenhouse on Mar 1. Ran the lights in there from 6-11am, then 4-10pm. I transplanted them outside on May 19. I've been using a small LED floodlight (10w/1000 lumens/6500k) on each plant from 12:30-2am. My plan is to continue this...

What to use to deter caterpillars eating my outdoor grow

That's up to you. I personally stop spraying everything a week before harvest. They claim that you can spray right up till the day of harvest, though.
