    Compost heaps or something

As others have said, lime. What works without purchasing something is wood ash; either from a fireplace or firepit. You may also find it easier to tend to the compost pit if its in your yard and then just carry in the finished compost. That way you can water and turn the compost at your...

First time New England grow, need some soil help

April 15 is a good day (the earliest) to start seeds for NE. In 2 weeks they should be a couple inches tall and if you can hold them under lights indoors until their in 1/2 gallon pots (about 4 weeks) they should be good to move outside by May 15. Just watch the 10-day forecast so there are no...

    Massachussetts growing tips/tricks

Don't put your plants outside until at earliest May 1. WeedFreak is correct, planting outside on Memorial Day will ensure they won't freeze, but you can cheat by a few weeks if you look at the 10 day forecast. I put out beginning of May last year and had a freeze that almost killed them...

Wondering about weather getting cold in mass

Yesterday (Tues 9/28) I found another chunk of mold eating one of my girls so I chopped the top 1/2 off the plant. The mold was in the cola, so I wanted to get it drying ASAP. I kept them in containers so I moved them into my shed two nights ago. I've been bringing them out when it's sunny...

Wondering about weather getting cold in mass

(I'm in MA) I found a small chunk of mold in a bud on Saturday (9/25) but I didn't worry too much about it. Then it rained Sunday night into Monday and I haven't checked them since. They are still in pots so I'll probably try to drag them into my shed tonight since it's supposed to rain for...

How do you cure large amounts?

It's probably too late for you this time but I collect any glass jar through the year. I've got empty salsa, pickle, spices, jelly, marinara, etc. jars ready to go. I wouldn't use tupperware myself because I think the taste would be off. Wal Mart has a case of 'canning' jars for under $10...

Northeast Growers Thread. Show Em' We're Here.Northeast

Thanks, Bud. I'm pretty sure it's a White Widow. I planted three strains and accidentally mixed them up early on while transplanting. But WW was 80% of the seeds planted (another couple seeds of Kandahar from Ministry and a few Nepalese Dragon also from Ministry). This guy looks like 6 of...

How's this guy for representing the NE growers? My first year growing so I didn't crop or anything, so she's a bit leggy... but tons of nodes. I took her out of hiding just for these photos. Enjoy.

Outdoor Garden Grow/Big Devil Autoflower Harvest

Everything looks great. I grew four Devilmatics from Ministry of Cannabis this year. Looks almost like the same plant. I had a nice yield, couple of oz's. Not bad for 60 days from germ to chop. I've got three more automatics growing but they look terrible. Tall and gangly with few buds...

Nice, Harley. Can't believe you have trichomes already. Kinetic, I'd love to do a window grow. Just like a houseplant. Simple and manageable.

I grew four Devilmatics from Ministry seeds. Ended up being bigger than I hoped for. Got about 70 grams dried all together. Started them indoors at beginning of May and they were done in about 60 days. I've got 8 more regular plants that are getting enormous. I just wish they'd start to flower.

What's up people? This is my first season growing (southeastern Mass) and it's going great. I've been waiting for a thread to interact with and this seems right up my alley. I can't post pics now but will try when I get on my main computer tomorrow. Would love to hear what everyone thinks...

How big should pots be for plants?

Going with a 10 gallon is definitely better if it's practical. I just transplanted from 6 gallon to 16 gallon monsters. I'm in New England and roots hadn't completely filled the 6 gallon yet and the plants were about 40" (almost 3 1/2 feet). I bet they'd grow at least another two feet in the...

    Anyone growing in Maine/New england?

Woody, just go to a seedbank. At this point in the season you better get an autoflower.
