They probably can go dormant for long periods of time, I've heard people stop for 6-12 months and somehow they still come...
I shut down sanitized and burned sulfur every single day also...still they came back
From researchers they said life cycle (5-13 days) is short without host plant and cannot play dormant in any circumstances...just quoting what they said.
I think russets can overwinter though
Yeah it does cost a lot, I was mainly asking because I want to know because Sulfur can't be used during mid flowering/bloomstage, but I'm sure citric acid is ok
