I only have one grow under my belt. I cant remember if i topped. But LST in a my PC worked quite well. I worked at bending it around the container and kept the lights as close as possible. I do hear super cropping works great but LST works so well and it was quite easy.

with my PC grow. I LST'd them. It worked very well for the space i was in and bending them over got the light in the inner nodes. I think that would help a lot.
Oh my, i just thought of this idea because i have a Rasp Pi laying around. I have no idea how to use it but it sounds very intresting and up my ally of DIY... i THINK!..

Ah i didnt see that part. Just saw the picture. I had like 3-5 CFLs on top of mine. Only had one instance of any burn but that was because a light actually fell and sat on it over night :( My temps also got hot some nights too; like 91F But all turned out well.

I just saw the above picture. With those CFLs I would try to move them a lot closer it should prevent any stretching.
I had mine sit about 1-3 inches from the leaves
i used 69watts (3x23 Watts)
i would think the exhaust is the most important. try running the crate without the plants (maybe when they are germ.) and see how hot it gets.
agreed on the mylar. its about 3 bucks. at our stores here.
LST is key i tried to keep the main tip lower than the branch; it helped keep things compact for me.
