I am currently a status member of Alderville First Nation who currently holds the position of Executive spokesperson for the local cannabis growers branch of our membership based self regulating group consisting of local First Nations members. I will be in that position officially until September 15, 2018 and then open to volunteer in continuing that position if voted in.
Our association which has yet to be officially named is operating under the First Nations Right to self determination and establishing a set of regulations that we the members agree to abide by. The set of regulations that we agree to establish will then be enforceable by removal from membership and the legitimacy that it affords. As long as leadership isn't officially opposed to our movement we remain legitimate. It is a priority for our group to be in line with community and cultural as well as moral standards when we finalize our regulations.
