FUNGUS HELP!

What are your thoughts!! As you can see, at the top of the cola, the plant is turning brown. This is the only photo I have at the moment. Is this due to some sort of fungus or mold? Or is the plant dying due to age? It’s been outside since Christmas! I live near the east coast in FL. The plant is under ploy carbonate roof so it dosent get direct rain. What could this be? I had a grow 2 years ago succumb to this same looking issue. But those plants weren’t under a roof.

No picture attached! Chances are you’ve got bud rot.

Edit: Bud rot is an equal opportunity destroyer. Covered, or uncovered, indoors or out, if there’s not enough air flow and you’ve got high humidity (coastal Fl.) your chances of rot are always there. If you post a picture it would help, but if it’s rot, you need to remove the infected portion and about an inch below it, and watch closely for more rot. How far along in flower is the plant?

Florida is one of the worst places to grow outdoors..........always high humidity causing bud rot.
I even get it sometimes indoors.

IT WONT LET ME PUT PICTURES DAMNIT! Something is wrong with my phone, I’ve been trying to get them uploaded since yesterday. It basically looks like brown and has some whiteness in and around the bud almost like cotton. They’ve been flowering for 2 months. But I worry it has begun to revegg, since we put it outside on Christmas. And now the days are longer. I think you may be right about bud rot, I’ll do some reacherch into it! Thank you!

Yeaaaa that’s something I’ve learned over the last couple of years. It’s a big goal of mine to master it and make it feasible to grow outdoor in florida! I’ll look into bud rot. We’re also looking into common fungus that can attack the plants! Appreciate the response!

If it looks like cotton, it's rotten!! Get the infected part off asap. I doubt at this time of year your gettig more than about 12 hours of light. At 8 weeks in flower it should be done pretty soon, watch it like a hawk, you may have to yank it a bit early if the rot progresses.

Gotchya Gotchya! Snip the infected part, and watch closely! Noted!! I did that last year to try to save my crop, unfortunately I wasent knowledgeable or quick enough. I’ve lost 2 separate crops due to this same shit. Florida sure is hard to outdoor grow! Thus why this year we’re trying the polycarbonate panels for a roof over them! They’re also in a screen room that’s pretty sealed. Trying and trying again!!! Thanks again for the help! Any tips are helpful!

The problem is that the mold spores are always floating in the air, on your clothes, hands, everywhere! Just waiting to land on something and start growing, and unfortunately high humidity is the #1 requirement for mold! Unless your growing indoors with UV, HEPA filters, and a clean room, you'll never keep it out. Best you can hope for is to try and make the conditions less favorable. There are some that use different sprays to combat it, google may be helpful with that.

Right, Gotchya Gotchya. Makes sense. Over the years I’m sure I’ll learn how to combat it more, but to your point, there isn’t any sure fire way! Thanks again for the help! I super appreciate it!
