I never or rarely had many issues years ago. Now lately I am picking it back up again and have some issues germinating. Could it be the strain? Finicky? What happens is most seeds will start to sprout ( lets say out of 20 seeds ) and only a few or so maybe a half dozen will come out nicely while the others just sit there and stop coming out. ( small white tips of the started root or whatever they are called ) or they are very slow. Then what happens is a fuzz or mold looking stuff starts growing on the surface. Is this a temperature problem? Too much water? not enough? What the hell is going on. And its happening again with the F2 seeds. They look good and such and are maybe 4 months old is all. Kept in airtight container. I also had problems with the original purchased seeds. Headband Cookies BX1.
I've got them on wet/then drained clean napkin inside plastic bag under the grow light its 75F. They were at 80 to 85 for like half a day before I realized and put them a little lower. What should I try since I only have 10-15 seeds left. The others I rinsed real well and put them back in the bag under the light again. Could they be too warm? not warm enough? SHould I let the napkin get just about dry ? DOn't get it. SOmething is off in my methods or something. In addition, its been 3 days since the others had sprouted and looked 'fairly well' . Will they grow in the soil if only say 1/4" or less has come out of the seed coat? Seems like every time I just leave them in for another 24 hours nothing happens. What about pouring some hydrogen peroxide over them? LOL IDK at a loss. Seems like same thing as last time I end up with only 1/4 of the seeds making it to adulthood.
