my first grow , its not great

take it easy on me please .

i started this grow about 10 weeks ago without internet , i lost track of the days since then .

cheapo 2x4x5 tent , kingledDSC00806.JPGDSC00807.JPGDSC00808.JPGDSC00809.JPG light of unknown wattage . it has two switches one says veg other says flower . grow median is the best dirt i could find in my yard and few handfuls of pearlite . nutes used " strive " two part . and a 4 inch vent fan .
strain... unknown bag seeds . ph, temps and humidity are unknown , watered with well water . its rather hard . lots of iron , calcium and Sulphur

the story , i am disabled and live on a small annuity so when we went legal in ohio i did not think id be able to start a grow simply because i cant afford the equipment .
then one day i was walking around the local outdoor flea market freezing my butt off i came across a vender who had some crappy stuff for sale at crappy stuff prices so i came home with the tent , light , fan and nutes for the massive price of $65 and i was in business .

started some seeds and here i am . no timers or anything fancy . when they feel dry i feed and water them . the one plant i experimented tying things back to open up for light , yea its ugly it grew a lot more then expected in flower , i need to tie back that top that's against the light . the other i just left alone .

i did not have internet till just a few days ago so i didnt have much to go on , i do not have a green thumb , my first time growing anything DSC00802.JPGDSC00805.JPG

Youre doing great! It looks like youre flowering and about week 3-4 ? If its not on purpose you have auto flower seeds.

What hours do you have your lights on?

i am towards the end of week 4 of flower , had a couple hiccups that may have slowed things down some. mostly watering issues , they went from wanting water every 6-7 days to every three days and i didn't catch on to that fast enough had some serious droop a couple times .

lights are on 12-12 7pm to 7 am

n/e ohio , rogers area .

and thank you everyone , been looking threw grows on here and mine for sure doesnt compare

Those are the exact same times I put on my lights! My favorite thing is start bottom watering as soon as they will take it, that way they drink as much and whenever they feel like it in flower.

Also from Ohio here,
This looks very good for a first time indoor setup on a budget! Keep up the good work. Seeing this gives me hope. I actually just dropped about $1,000 all together on a 4x4 tent with all the bells and whistles including 6" carbon filter exhaust, fans, LED light, pots, soil, nutrients, thermometers, timers, power strip, extention chords, fans etc and I am absolutely tapped out. After I ordered 10 Maui wowie seeds for $120 on ILGM (I love Growing Marijuana) only 3 out of the 10 seeds popped into germination and I'm seriously debating this whole thing at this point. Seems like a giant money pit. Glad to see someone can get it going on $65.

hmm, what's this bottom watering you speak of ? ill have to check into it .

i hear you on the money pit aspect of growing . but and its a big fat hairy butt once you get the wrinkles ironed out you will have a far easier time of it . for example when you water you wont be spending the next 45 minutes with a towel and bucket mopping up the run off . you wont have to schedule your life around turning lights on and off , not that i have much else to to do .
you also wont be worried about mold or bugs later in your grow because you'll have a fan or two inside your tent and the right stuff to keep the creepies at bay .
you'll have less worries about you elcheapo light crapping out on you at the worst possible time . id say you will have a much more enjoyable experience in the long run ... even if it is a painful start .

sure id like to have the bucks for a few minor improvements , ill worry about that some other day . getting threw this grow is what its important now .

Hey man don't give up! I'm from Ohio as well. Sounds like you have the setup that'll last you for years to come. Message me I'll help you out. Same as @iliketoast hmu I'll walk you through whatever you need! Most everyone on this site is very helpful and willing to offer a helping hand.

I spent 4k on my grow. Nothing else to buy. Just harvest and save money. Alot of money. A money pit is something that keeps taking money. Id say a grand of that is because its a tight space to still live in. Separate tents more filters fans etc.

Also because I make all rosin otherwise growing weed is suuuuper cost effective. I spent all that without hesitation cause how much Id save. 1$ grams vs 10$.

You’re doing well, especially for a $65 start up. Don‘t compare yourself to people on here, there are growers here with decades of experience. Learn from them but keep it simple, you can get overwhelmed by the minutiae.

I think he's doing better than alot of folks. The people who believe they can throw money at the plant to make them happy should take notes. This is KISS at its purest. The OP may not win any cups, but they're not blowing a couple grand growing abused mids either.

some thoughts on being frugal , id make some changes if i could but I'm not sweating the fact that i cant . i think the biggest change would be to add a fan or two inside the tent . i know most immediately go for the big ticket stuff like a light . but hey mines working so ill roll with it .
another and i think this would have made a huge impact on my grow had i known about it .. some simple netting and lst . live and learn .

i wish i could say I've learned a lot , i haven't . truth be told there hasn't been any major issues to learn from . and yes i am having a hard time waiting for that first toke ...... its been a long time since ive had anything to smoke .

anyhow , watered the girls today and put on my reading glasses . plant on the left is showing some orange hairs and lots of trichomes appearing on the sugar leaves . and I'm getting some purple tinge in the center of the leaves .. not sure if that is good or bad .
plant on the right is a few days behind the other and looks completely different even though the seeds came from the same bag
