Gonna buy a ph pen or one of those kits tonight off Amazon. I ha be honestly NEVER checked my ph which is making me wonder what I’m actually missing lol.I had something that looked exactly the same last year for no reason or so I thought I was whacked one night filling my reservoir and must have forgot to adjust ph level after adding all the nutrients and thought no more of it until about 7 maybe 8 days later that starting showing on leaves so I immediately checked ph which what almost touching 9.0 which was way way off the normal 5.8-6.2 I drained the reservoir flushed for 3 days with plain water to hopefully fix my error but the yellowing was still spreading but not a quickly had a m8 have a look he told me calcium deficiency so I bought some mono calcium refilled the tank adjusted ph to correct value and added a boost of the mono calcium within 2 days all yellowing had stopped in its tracks and did go any further maybe check ph ASAP like the others said because chances are it's way off like mine and your getting a lockout of some crucial nutrients needed my excuse was I was way too baked and forgot where I was never mind what I was meant to be doing a little error like that can sometimes ruin a crop, so ph 1st then go from there I hope you can sort it out ASAP
Any suggestions on base nutes? Again I’m a noob lolYep I noticed that just after my reply, oh dear oh dear you need to check ph and get some base nutrients in there pronto your obviously missing the most important things the plants need right now so that must be what's causing your yellowing for sure
Awesome thanks also, again I have never checked the ph and I’m gonna try to get something off Amazon for it tonight.Did you read what he is feeding? It's no NPK. Just some cal mag and sweetener. You'd be surprised how easy it can be to do just base nutes with cal mag and have very nice harvests
Good idea to check pH but if the soil has good buffering capacity it shouldn't be a big issue
If I had the room I would Def. Have my plants that big lol. Those look awesome! You want your plants looking like this
Thank you so much! I really wanna see these plants do their best and also I’d like some weight to the bud because the amount they shrink up to after harvesting from what I saw last year was insane lol.try General hydroponics 3-part for synthetic.
Megacrop was giving away free samples here on the giveaways forum it may still be active
there are others too. I'm using plagron this time around and they work just as good as the other nutes I've used except this line of theirs I'm using is a coco 2 part. It includes the cal-mag and is ok to use with nothing else. So far so good!
They also make other lines for soil.
Floraflex also makes base nutes, as well as many other companies
Awesome! I was just gonna ask what nutes I should get because I wanna buy them tonight. So either one of those two u mentioned, and just add them to what I already feed right? I feel like I’ve been starving my plants now lol.A small bag of maxibloom or a bottle of floranova bloom would also work good for now, and go along with what you already have.
Im about to hop on now and learn about reading PH and stuff, I got my digital Ph reader coming in today along w that FloraNova to add.You tube is great for learning how to do things your unsure of like checking ph and nutrient mixes also training and topping your plants the list goes on forever but topping is a definite yield boost if done right and at the right time another is supercropping to get stronger branches which promotes better nutrient uptake for larger buds
So im getting my Digital Ph reader today in the mail along with the FloraNova stuff and a microscope so i can see trichomPersonally, I would either stick to synthetic nutes\salts with soilless medium, or go all organic all the way, and worry more about feeding the microbes with teas & whatnot, to help break down whatever I'm adding to the soil. Some crazy people are even using urine around here. I miss growing with soil sometimes!
The cool part about growing, is you can do a little bit of both, or whatever. You can feed your soil synthetic nutes np, especially after its spent. If you grab a bag of either of those or even the flora 3-part, you can feed it to soil, or expirement with hydro grows in the future too. You can even do full grows with just the bloom versions, etc. Probably all you need right now is a 1 part IMO
Im really gonna learn more for my next grow lol. Like how tf did i not even think about base nutes lol. Any whoo, all the stuff just came in the mail so im gonna learn how to do the PH and all that jazz. I really appreciate the help.Personally, I would either stick to synthetic nutes\salts with soilless medium, or go all organic all the way, and worry more about feeding the microbes with teas & whatnot, to help break down whatever I'm adding to the soil. You don't. Just carry on.Just wondering when I need to flush this soil.
How do you guys determine when to flush and harvest?
I’m at week 6 and the plant isnt growing any taller. Also the basic nutes helped a bunch! Been checking trichs and I see some cloudy dome clear and amber. Just wondering when I need to flush this soil.
Thanks so much for the extra advice and info. Man this grow has been my best one yet and ive learned a bunch from you and others! You basically want to "flush" the SOIL (you got that right!) a little bit, and every time you water when using soluble\synthetic nutes. Just enough to remove any possible buildup from the last times, and help to stay within an acceptable range.. depending on what your soil mix consist of from the start of course... You kinda treat it like hydro to some extent when using "hydro" based nutes.. Even in soil, but only really when feeding, as opposed to the plain watering times in between. As in, water just until you barely get some runoff when adding the nutes. That is your proper "flushing" of the soil in this case, and all the "flushing" of your medium that should really be needed, which already happens a little each time. Only every other watering or so too, unless you run into more problems and need to do a real flush (many times the pot size) for some other reason... but it sounds like your on the right track now. If you are feeding\watering properly, there is no real good reason too, because you pretty much already are anyway. That's how I see it anyway.
Unless you have a strict schedule going, where you need to chop down at specific times, I would let it mature as long as you can. You'll know when she has packed on as much extra weight as possible, and the hairs are mostly shriveled up, etc. Better yet, take a few different samples at different intervals in the last remaining weeks, so you can compare them to find whats best for you & the strain, and for future grows. There is no exact time that is perfect IMO, but there are different windows that only stay open so long..
woah, I wonder how much they would swell up if i let them go for another month lol. Its kinda cool. Im honestly waiting for tihs harvest so i can take a couple trips lol. Itll be nice to see the end result. These are Orangina plants and ive been trying to find out as much as possible about them. Do you have any trusted sites for strain info? these came from a sample batch from my friends dispensary. You don't. Just carry on.
Flushing a plant to achieve whiter ash is nonsense. White ash is achieved through drying/curing properly and adequately.
I'm not against plain water the last week or whatever.
Nice looking grow!
Easily have a few weeks left there. More like a month.
And, when it all looks proper ready, give it another week and see. Good time for plain water then, if you desire.
What’s the science/mechanism? Less chlorophyll when cured properly to get white ash?You don't. Just carry on.
