Project Mayhem - Tyler Durden's Perpetual Grow

It's been 6 days since my last update. First system is stacking weight and frost nicely, we're about half way through the flowering cycle, about 4 1/2 weeks to go before I get to taste these new strains -

Here's the system after some breaking and tucking. Canopy is even, but that will only last a few days before more tucking is needed

Moms are doing great, as usual. Light is at 50%, still super fast growth -

Veg unit is on auto pilot. I only put in 8 to give them more space. I only use 6 -

How do you reach the plants in back for training?

How do you reach the plants in back for training?

Very Carefully ;) Right now it is easy because there was an open space to easily reach from where a flowering system is supposed to be, because I'm just starting back up. When the room is full, it is much more difficult. I rely on these tools -

I usually use just one, but sometimes I have to use two to hold a stem with one and gently bend and tuck with the other.

I lollipop and defoliate with this, it's about 3 feet long. It is strong and sharp, but I have to take my time as not to snip off an important branch. With practice I've gotten pretty good at the art of Long Distance Canopy Maintenance...

It seems like the quantity and quality of local dispensaries plays a huge role in pricing.

Yea that seems to be true everywhere. We have only had a dispensary in town for about 3 months. There is almost never anyone in the parking lot. Three more were set to open but stalled, and so far one of those has already pulled out due to lack of demand. It seems around here anyone who wanted smoke already had a source or two and don't see any reason to go pay higher prices for lesser amounts. The dispensary version of a nickel bag is 2.8 grams, not sure why. So that already is a deterrent. The people who I have heard going there do so for concentrates and vapes, as its not so easy to have a plug for those. So the key seems to be offer a little more quantity and better quality for a lesser price, which I suppose is elementary.

The other competition is coming from the slew of new growers who decided to try their luck now that the laws have changed. But experience lends itself to ability more so than luck, so most of them are putting out stuff ranging from mediocre to sadness, and expecting top dollar for it ofc. When you first start growing there is such an onslaught of snake oil, myths and scams out there. It's easy to throw a ton of money at a setup and then get product that you don't enjoy smoking and no one wants to buy. A lot of people are going to come to the conclusion that it's cheaper and easier to just pay someone else to grow it, like they always did before.

Prices here were 50 1/8 forever, so offering it for half that is perceived as a deal. I have two Jelly Donutz phenos, one IMO is lower top-shelf and the other is mid-top shelf. So far, I get 25-35 per 1/8th. $150-230/o. I also throw in a ~.3 gram chunk of bubble per 1/8th and everyone is happy. And because the quality is a step up from what most people are getting around here there is a bit of word-of-mouth advertising. Problem is, people are used to variety these days, so despite my stuff being better they will tire of it, hence the need for clones. I will continue to pheno hunt unicorns but I need a variety of solid winners to rotate asap.

I will def be getting Chicken n Waffles and Capt Kush. There are a few interesting names on the latest menu but for some he only wants $50, so it seems counterintuitive to get them. Got research to do I guess, but I'll probs end up with at least one more the same as you. I'll def let you know. And thanks again for your posts here. It's given me a clear direction to move in.
