Computer Thread

Kind of a neat .gov site showing.."website provides a window into how people are interacting with the government online. The data come from a unified Google Analytics account for U.S. federal government agencies known as the Digital Analytics Program . This program helps government agencies understand how people find, access, and use government services online."

"In a new preprint study awaiting peer review, researchers report that in a three-party version of a Turing test, in which participants chat with a human and an AI at the same time and then evaluate which is which, OpenAI's GPT-4.5 model was deemed to be the human 73 percent of the time when it was instructed to adopt a persona. That's significantly higher than a random chance of 50 percent, suggesting that the Turing test has resoundingly been beaten."

I've still got a lot of this old tech. Too bad it's not NIB, prolly worth a fortune. Pulled the hard drives from all the old PC's I've owned and got them stored? Somewhere? for something? They had to pull me away from my Nokia 1100, kicking and screaming, when they did away with the 2G network.

Anyone ever installed WPS office? It does PDF files and a bunch of other stuff.
I pretty much started with MS Office from it's genesis around 1990

and haven't tried anything else. I've got a newer one (2024 ver.) loaded on another PC but my favorite version is Office 2003. They run specials on the new stuff and practically give it away.
