  • Hello, I'm am planning my first indoor in a 30gal pot and I enjoyed reading through your journal from a couple years ago. Can you point me in the right direction for putting together a reusable living organic soil mix please? I'm also interested in learning/practicing using plant based nutrients exclusivly.

    Hello PSUAGRO,

I finally set up my garden and my night temps get down to 50 Fahrenheit in a tent, in a garage. If I want to keep it in the garage do you think I could cut foam insulation to size around my small 2x2.5ft tent (including openings for air intake/removal)? My veg light cycle is currently 11pm to 5pm. Do you have any suggestions?

Good to see you again. Mid power Samsung s are a very good option and proven. Personally i think hyper reds/ 660nm are worth it. Far red, Emerson effect is something that has been debated for some time now, with heavy indica i wouldn't bother as they flower under 13/11,14/10 anyways. But for sativa crosses and the like its helpful.

How many 660nm is up to you and what your wallet can handle; ) fr you can use Minimal and still see the effect with 120 degree Oslo ns

    Thanks a lot!
In another thread you pointed out that cooling fans should point down not up. Mine were pointed up and the hs temp above the cob at the end of the bar was 95f. The hs was sized for passive...but I like fans and cool cobs. Anyway I turned the fans over and the temp dropped to 81f. Just 8 degrees above ambient! Sweet! Thanks.
Hi man, hope you are doing fine..I am planning to start a small indoor grow with leds and would like your opinion whether to use Hans panel or not??Do you recommend Hans or should I go with cobs??Price is quite good for me for Hans also in comparison with diy cobs since I am located in europe..thanks in advance.

cobs are better, hans is still stuck on cree xbd which are outdated by now, osram 660nm chips are good but as a package I just can't recommend it in 2016 until he updates the rest.....

check out spectradesignlab out of italy for pre-built/quality cxb fixtures.........riu members get a discount if you mention it

    good luck grower

Thanks a lot man...indeed they seem great...btw and fyi hans changed to all cree the panels last month and now using cree xp-e depp red instead of osram..i sent a message to zangtumtum to ask for details..I am looking at spectra cob4..do you know if the cree version has cxa or cxb cobs?? thanks

Idk that hans changed his DR to cree photo red(epistar) probably to save costs and osram oslons has the best junction temps on the market which suited his minimal cooling, still it's all mostly xbd......that's my biggest issue. Remember output first, spectrum second

I do believe the spectra is available with cxb, zang will confirm and help you.......it's one of the best built fixtures around IMO.
    Bonjour
I want to reuse my soil and I wonder how many alfalfa I can topdress with ewc and guano? And if I should add azomite or basalt or both?
    Thanks

Makers is great stuff(heatsinks)...........the fixture is too small for the price meaning you will need many ..... Hans panel spreads out his diodes over a way larger mcpcb @ the same wattage(80w)

also we don't know the bins on those cree's used??? probably top though , their an aquarium enthusiast supplier' first.
Hey bro... yeah AFAIK only the Evo V1 had blue diodes, they took them out at V3 besides the fact some growers reported better performance and spectrum. Anyway, it's a good starting point. :)
Hello and greetings from Spain. I'm planing my first indoor grow setup. The best choice that I found are Hans Panels anyway I would ask you because I think you have made many test with this and other led panels. My plan is get two mothers from regular seeds one strain SuperSkunk (Flowering 8 weeks) the other NLX (Flowering 9 weeks) once I have the selected mothers start with clones 12 of each mother 24 in total under one Hans panel, similar SOG like Hans does but with two strains. Growing clones between harvests while others are flowering, it should take 9 weeks for every harvest I hope. Please tell me what you think I like Hans panel because it has a very low power consumption compared with other systems and for my grow area it fits well. Thank you.
So i saw that you do not use any intake or outtake, and i got an idea, that maybe i could turn ventilator on just in flowerin. During vegitation, just pasive intake at the bottom of the cab and no exhaust until ladies will tarted to smell...What do you think?
I am also wondering about the height which plants will grow to, do you think 1 m is enought, or maybe too much? How big were your plants and what do you recommend?
At the beggining i will use only one chamber for both phases, but later on i belive i will built veg chamber, maybe with four 23w cfl...Do you think cfl for veg and hans panel for flowering will work?

    tnx for your answers...:peace:
    Hello Psuargo...how are you? :weed:
First of all i would like to say congratulation on your experiment with Hans panels, you really inspire me to go with led, more so with 2 hans panels...
i like to ask you few quastions..
i want to grow 2 plants, one under each hans panel. My cab dimensions will be 60cm width, 50 cm depth and 130cm height, but in upper 30 cm there will be utility room(for ventilation and stuff, i have bought TD silent 350 - http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/SLTD350SILENT.html) so i hope i can squize it up there, because it is quite big vent...but also quiet, stealth is key thing for me.
What up Bro. Rockin the Induction this time round huh? You're gonna have some healthy ass plants with that setup I bet.

I saw where some motherf*ckers were callin you old. Trust me you ain't old till you find that big grey hair on your sac. And when you do find it, don't get drunk. It doesn't work. Find a twenty year old to fuck instead. ;).

And remember if you ever need anything I'm just a short trip up old 95. Peace!
Hey man, come visit the Colorado if you ever get bored! I'm in Kansas right now, but soon I'll be back in Boulder county sipping on Gin and Cronic, and smoking my belated B-day blunt. Next year I plan on doing a full USA tour, excluding the South, and I hope to bring you some presents. BadKittySmiles has a shitload of amazing recipes in the cooking section. Peace! Oh yeah, and thanks for all the likes on the threads, it helps knowing that someone is getting something out of them. Have a dank day!
I find you can't really use much light when germinating. I have a Blueberry that was doing poorly, slow growth, weird shaped leaves, and I turned off the flowering spectrum on my PG180 and turned off one of my BS180 panels. It seems to be growing a little faster, but it's only been 2 days... I'll let you know how it's going!
Post anything you want...........except pics of your dicks..........lol it rhymes...........be safe and happy growing
