    Burnt pistil hairs?

What are your temps? How close are your lights? Have you sprayed your plants with anything?

Best position and timing for UV lamp in my tent?

I think your lamp is fine where it is located, I would use it mid day to try to mimic the suns natural cycle. The 18w lamp shouldn’t affect temps significantly. I do think you need to do something to better get temps under control though, 40C is way too high. You shouldn’t be exceeding 30C...

    Grow Light Upgrade Assistance Request

The 4-pack of HLG QB 120’s wired to a HLG-240H-24A driver. Would be a bit over $200 total. Since it is 4 smaller boards it gives you the flexibility to mount them in a configuration that works with your tent.

    First time SCROG. WOW!

You got like another 2-3 weeks, would be a shame to harvest those babies prematurely.

    LED build

You can but it’s not very cost efficient. For instance the 4’ F strips are ~$22 for single row or ~$42 for double rows. So the cost of adding heatsinks isn’t very significant to be able to run them ~80-150w per strip. The Bridgelux EB Gen 2 4’ strips were only ~$8 so the cost of heatsinks adds...

Subbed! :bigjoint: Off to a great start, the room looks amazing. Love the variety of lighting. Ready to watch you kill it!

    LED build

The SF 4000 should do well in the veg tent. You have a decent height to work with. It’s honestly up to personal preference on what type of light appeals to you the most. The QB 96’s have good penetration but need about 18-24” distance from canopy depending on how hard you run them. They have...

    LED build

What size is the veg tent? You could potentially use the SF 4000 in the veg tent if it’s a decent enough size and DIY some lights for the flower space. 12x HLG QB 96’s on 3x HLG-480H-54A drivers would do nicely in a 5x9 and would cost around $1300-1400. I would either go for that or a strips...

I use to LED, but now I CMH. for one main reason.

From my understanding UVC is what is necessary to control PM. Outdoor plants can get PM quite easily despite the suns UVA/UVB rays. UVC rays don’t reach the earths surface because they are filtered by the atmosphere. UVC is what is used in water systems, ventilation systems, and hospitals for...

I use to LED, but now I CMH. for one main reason.

An Agromax or Solacure UV bulb will output significantly more UV than a CMH produces. It’s a relatively cheap investment that is a good supplement to any light source.

    400W @ 83F or 600W @ 89F

400w is fine, that’s still 50w per square ft in a 2x4. The fact that the tent is also only 5’ tall you want to be able to place the lamp as close to the plants as possible. Yes, more light is generally better but 600w is 75w per square ft which is overkill IMO. I’d prefer slightly less yield of...

Does Earlier Planting = Earlier Flowering? (outdoors)

No, maturity doesn’t affect the natural flowering seasons outdoors. Guys in NorCal that start vegging clones 8 months before flowering season in order to get 10lb pound plants won’t finish any sooner than if they started the same clones only a month before flowering season. They would simply...

    Dehu which one? specifically.

Having an oversized A/C won’t lower humidity as much because the compressor will keep cycling on/off frequently. So even if the A/C fan continues to run it won’t actually be lowering humidity if the compressor has cycled off.

Heat is an issue, 630 cmh vs 1000w de

1GPW up to 2GPW if you have things dialed and a good yielding strain. So between 1-2lbs.

    New to lighting

The 240h driver puts out 240w, so if you have 2 lights for 480w total that can cover 2’x8’. I haven’t used the rapid led pucks but if they are similar to HLG QB 96’s you want them 18-24” away. 2-3 gallon pots of coco fed multiple times per day will have faster growth then soil and will usually...

Thinking of switching to something other than AN

No I haven’t. I used to use Grow for veg and Bloom/Mag-Pro for flower but now I just use FP for veg and Bloom for flower. I’ve seen HomeBrewer say you can use FP for full cycle, I’m just concerned the N is a bit too high and P/K a bit too low towards the end of flower.

Thinking of switching to something other than AN

Wow, are you in soil? How often do you feed? That’s like 2EC in veg, my plants would fry lol.
