Bad Idea just like bread the cold will break through the plastic and it'll get freezer burnt it needs to be in a mason jar.

For pretreating get some dolomite lime, gypsum and blood and bone and dig it into the ground so your plants have a solid organic base, you could even take some coco and worm casts so come next season you don't have to haul out any soil and the soil you grow in is already really good.

Yes I have a 3 foot plant that only got indirect sunlight 12hrs a day yeilding over 2 O good genetics and good soil/nutes you'll be fine anything more is only going to be better.
