While a strain may look great, that doesn't mean instant high yields. Trichrome head size has a lot to do with yield, and the amount of "oil" that fills those heads. I've pulled 7 grams off an oz of sour diesel that looked good not great. Same pheno of sour diesel a few months later yielded 4...

Just veg your rooted clones for 3-5 days. Just let the roots establish. Then flip to flower.

You can also just scrog the first few weeks of flower to maintain an even canopy.
