Yes but make sure it's an opaque cup so it lets a little light through, not too much. I used a Starbucks iced coffee cup and a 2 liter sprite bottle cut in half. Left those on until the leaves touch the side of the cup, once they're too big for the cup, that's when you start your week 1 of true veg.

Started my very first grow about 2 months ago, no experience other than what I read online. Everything started out ok, planted one special queen, one amnesia and one white widow x big bud. All did well the first week. Then not quite sure what happened to the W.W. x B.B. Growth stunted leaves...
