Yeah try get a picture up would only be guessing without one calcium and potassium will both leave spotting here's a chart of some deficiencies but could also be insect damage, picture speaks a thousand tho

Totally true I have some mates who will go for days on end then lock them selfs in there houses and block out the outside world I have no idea either why people choose that high

Like Juss said just flush not sure what fert is in miracle grow but no doubt some slow/fast release your plant should be fine new growth looks good, hot soil = soil high in fertilizer content

Yes but the more the leaf photosynthesise the less efficient it will become and newer less used foliage will be more efficient at it, they received some filtered light but they will be a lot more productive with direct light

Never said removing shade leaves was topping was saying prunning in general is a good thing if done correctly and yes the lower leaves May collect some filtered light but not as effectively if some of the shade leaves were removed, also your basing it on how close the leaf is to the light....
