You can get a successful RDWC grow without chillers, it's just more difficult to avoid pathogens. In my opinion, definitely go sterile if you choose the no chiller option and push a fair amount of air through micro pore diffusers to ensure adequate DO levels.

135 gallons in a 5 * 5? Why not just go Krusty buckets and save yourself a bunch of grief? In my opinion, R/DWC is the way to go for trees; if you're doing that a 5 * 5 space is great, for 1 plant, irregardless of whether or not it's 5 gallons or 135 gallons.

Dry sift, while a longer process is also easy to do (especially with a tumbler). Additionally, with a bit of work, you can get some full melt.

Just off the top of my head; the existence of 50 gm+/day licenses come to mind. Especially if the licensee in question grows trees in a DWC rig in their home. Granted, most would not, but you always have an outlier and there's the insurance industry's justification. As to other house plants...
