The general rule of thumb is sativa for hot, humid climate and indica for arid climate. Have any of you guys had success growing indica or hybrids along the US gulf coast? I have long grow seasons and summer temps approaching 100f from July through August. Humidity where I live will be 90+...

It depends on the strain and also the growing environment. You can't always go by the breeder's description that's for sure. I have a Pineapple Express Auto growing right now that, according to the breeder, should ripen in about 9 weeks from seed. It's over 13 weeks and just now finishing.

I think your headed down the right path here. My guess is the combination of compost in the soil and full doses of nutrients created a double whammy for that plant (and possibly others if left unchecked). The compost altered the properties of the coco to the point where it's drainage was...
