When adding water to the hydroton every day, should I use regular water or nute water? I think it's just plain water but need confirmation. Also, when do you stop top-feeding? My regular tap water is about 8.4 pH so I'm a bit concerned that adding this will raise the overall pH of the water.

What about Maxibloom? From everything I've read, Maxigrow isn't necessary and you can do a whole crop with Bloom. Also look at Megacrop (I've never tried but I considered it - they just took to long to reply to an email lol, or I would have bought it)

Re nutes - I'm just using Maxibloom, Silica and Cal-Mag (which I haven't used yet)

I use this TDS meter and it definitely measures EC lol. Just press shift. EDIT: Just read the post in full. Use the second one only and convert using the 500 scale...

Could a mod move this to a diary forum? I have 2x240W QBs but only using one at the moment at about 9518 lux at 38 inches away from plants. The dimmer is probably 70-75% atm. Room temp: 77.6 approx RH: 80.3 (dome over plants atm to keep humidity up) Is this too little/much light/distance?

Using nutes in the res and top feed, or just the res to begin with? Sorry for so many questions, it's just that there's so much conflicting information out there it's hard to pin down anything consistent.

Well there's no root on the second one so putting in the DWC now means it won't grow, doesn't it?

I'd planned on planting them when there were lots of roots coming out of the sides of the root riot. Doesn't look like that's going to happen any time soon though, so I don't actually know at this point. Probably asap?

I hear you, but after losing 4 seeds in the last attempt I'm trying to get this right lol. Still no root structure appearing yet. In fact, one of the tap roots on the second plant has seemingly disappeared :S

The good news is the tap roots are showing through the bottom on both of them. I think I'm going to leave them both one more day to see if those membranes/seeds come off themselves...whaddya think?

a 240W QB LED at about 45-50% and it's a little over 4ft away from the light.
