Mites are not that hard to see, if you don't see them with magnification don't worry. Sometimes a regular ol spider just needs a rest spot in the middle of it's journey. If you had enough mites to see webs, you would see them marching everywhere on your plant.

The theory is it brings oxygen to the roots. I am not a big fan of the concept, I once read a fairly involved article on why this isn't good. It dealt with something called free radicals.

The brown tips are a sign of nutrient burn. What are you feeding them? You put organics in the soil? Did you add too much? Organics can burn still, the process is just a little slower. New growth being twisted is a sign of calcium issues, but get the burn handled first.

Why is it in mud in that one pic? I'm not a fan of self feeding soil, escpecially when my little seedlings are concerned. It might be a little hot for it.

The deformed leaves reminds me of a calcium deficiency, the purple and the stunted growth looks like phosphorus deficiency. That is probably among other things. Is this happening on brand new growth, or is it happening after the stunted growth is fully formed?

Oh you don't need nutes for 4-5 weeks, just water them for now. But as always, don't over water, let them dry some between each.

It's good to check the water just to know what it is. But more important to PH the actual medium. Are the leaves themselves brittle? Feel like theres nothing to them? Get the PH and report back anyways.

You don't need to feed until about 4-5 weeks in, and when you do, don't over feed, better to feed too little than too much. You will often see people say 1/2 dose and feed slightly more often, that is a good method. But of course I don't know what you are feeding them so it's tough to say. if...

I agree with Stein, and the less is more is always a good thing to remember. Just mellow out and let them get some good clean water for a bit, probably have enough nutes to feed an army haha.

Id wait a week or so just to make sure everything went as planned. But it shouldn't hurt to dip right into 12/12.

If you just want a smaller setup get the 250, I started with a 250 and it did a decent job for my needs at the time. Is it an actual grow lamp, or is it just a run of the mill 250 watt ballast? If it's the latter I would keep looking.

I grew a full garden on my 1st ever grow, it went fantastic. Waste of time and space to just grow one plant, but I do always advise to do some basic research 1st.
