    Fans for stem strength

Hey promitius, I'm agreeing with you that plants in nature are stronger than plants indoors. I do however have to ask how you can be sure it's the wind that strengthens the plants and not the intense light coming from the sun? I'm not saying that wind doesn't play a role in nature, but to say...

LED newbie cabinet grow w/ hydro

I'd say take some distance shots without the flash, to show us truly how much light is being put out in your cab. Then take closeups with the flash on ;) just my $0.02.

    Sativa vs Indica

Yeah I would even go so far as to check the other mary cultivating forums as well. Google should help with that. It might be something that only shows up in x% of the durban poison strain as well so there might be only a small amount of people who have ever grown it that get this condition. But...

    Sativa vs Indica

Nope I haven't. I did notice that in your pictures, they do look a little strange. But they appear a nice healthy dark green so I don't think it's anything to be concerned with. It could be a genetic feature if this plant too. And I think the difference in genetics also makes nutrient uptake a...

Someone who knows something about photometry, PLEASE HELP.

I need help finding out how many square inches certain beam angles create at let's say, 12" and 24" for my next micro grow. I have been unable to find how to calculate how big a beam angle say 60 degrees would be on a surface 12 inches away. I would also like to know the same for degrees: 10...

    Sativa vs Indica

Yeah those are lookin pretty healthy if you ask me. I have an indica/sat and a sat/indy going in a scrog right now and it's definitely obvious the sativa has a longer flowering time just because of how slow it is. From what I've learned, sativas take a couple more weeks to really start to show...

Check out the close intermodal growth under LEDs

I'm curious about the light readings as well. About how far was the highest peak in light? And also how many lux or par was it? For the record, I have seen plants with wayy shorter internodes, but agreeing with you, that's a really nice short squat set of plants if they're all about that height...

    Fans for stem strength

I think I'm with JN811 on this one..as long as you have FRESH air you're going to do fine. The plants I have have NEVER had direct contact with my fan, it's too strong for them even on low. Keeps my CFLs cool though and supplies tons of fresh air. And for the record, the plant on the right has a...

LED newbie cabinet grow w/ hydro

Hahaha I just noticed the ironic part about this..We likely will be harvesting at the same time! I started mine 4/5 lol I am jealous, mine haven't crystallized up that much yet. Those are some pretty well taken care of ladies ;)

LED newbie cabinet grow w/ hydro

Wow lookin good!!! You look like you might be at or maybe even a little ahead of me in terms of how many weeks are left. How far along are these btw? Looks like the same stage in flowering as my ladies, cept you have more crystals! That's why I think you may be ahead ;) Or it could be that I'm...

    Crunky's CFL/LED Scrog!

I got these on ebay, I wouldn't recommend them though, they aren't bright enough by themselves. These retail for 45 a piece now I think, I only payed 100 for 4 so I got a good deal. If you're going to buy your LED light you might as well buy a UFO. Also found on ebay.

LumiGrow ES + HPS Hybrid Test

Wow, that's definitely impressive! Eager to see what kinda weight you get off these. I think with both the HPS intensity and the LED wavelengths on your side you're going to weigh big and have some potent stuff! Good work! ;) Don't let them nanners contaminate anything either! hah

How do I calculate the output of LEDs in lumens?

I'm not gonna try and convince you otherwise, but LEDs in that kind of a space is pretty crazy. You'd get better results from a HPS honestly. 400 or 500w of LED isn't going to cover that much space. It's simply too big for the LEDs, since they don't penetrate well. It's not really even about...

LED newbie cabinet grow w/ hydro

Oh wow, I think you might be the first person I've ever met that doesn't use what he grows! I think that's very cool that you're doing this for your lady, that's very honorable to take care of her like that ;) I sure hope you get what you desire out of this little operation, I'm looking forward...

LED newbie cabinet grow w/ hydro

Ahh well you 2 must not need that much then. :) Which is perfectly ok. All I know is it's soo soo satisfying to smoke some homegrown herb that you put the time and dedication in and all the tender loving care. Can never be 'too much' by the way haha. Just put it in the curing jars and it will...

LED newbie cabinet grow w/ hydro

Sounds like you've got everything under control :) One thing I might like to add, looking at your pictures from the most recent update is that your pump is working extra hard to defy gravity with the reservoir so far down from the cabinet itself. It looks like a pretty heavy duty pump but if it...
