you can switch anytime. I like to wait til my plants are 18"-20". Just acclimate them to the hps. Some ballasts have dimmers for this purpose.

looks like a calcium mag deficiency...distilled water doesn't have any...calmag added to water will fix that. Here is a chart I have found useful.

just sprinkle some cinnamon on the soil or drip tray. Works like a charm and the girls LOVE IT!

Using RO or filtered water depletes the calcium and magnesium...Calmag added to water fixes that. Here is a chart I've found useful. And I think you are watering your plants too much...all the leaves are droopy...need to let the soil dry out between waterings.

You can also use corn meal or sand, but I like the cinnamon too :)

are the spots little tiny dots of yellow? I had that happen to me. I added 3 tsp of molasses to their water and that seemed to fix the problem.

I had mites once and had to toss my whole grow at the beginning of this year. I now use azamax as a drench preventative. I don't have the patience or sharp enough eyes to wash and wipe down leaves.

Azamax can be used as a spray and a drench. It's expensive, but worth it. I use it for maintenance after a bought with the little buggers. I also used Dr. Doom and bombed the place. I also made a spray with habinero peppers...i.e. caliclean. Easy to miss that pregnant one....

I transplant from party cups to 1 gal pots, veg for one month, transplant to 2 gal pot for one month, then transplant to 5 gal for two months of flower. I used to flower in 3 gal pots but my plants became root bound after 30 days. I also put mine into flower at 18 to 20 inches which is taller...

I cloned at 21 days of flower. It took about two months to get them ready to flower again. The advantage is the way they reveg with many branches to produce 'main colas' as you can see from dozer's pic. The process is called monstercropping. I will know in about 6 weeks if it is worthwhile, but...
