50/50 Coco/Peat mix for base super soil

I could see replacing all or most of the perlite in a mix with coco chips and it working very well. Again, my frugal nature and the fact I use over a dozen cu.ft. of mix per year would persuade me not to use coco. Perlite and vermiculite cost me $25 and $35 respectively. My guess is 4 cu.ft of...

50/50 Coco/Peat mix for base super soil

Here is my take on coco. People use because it makes them feel good they are now more eco-friendly. It's also the new trendy thing. Us old peat and cow manure growers are yesterdays story. Coco costs 4-6 times as much as peat, even more if you buy the buffered type or factor in the cost of...

50/50 Coco/Peat mix for base super soil

That's why you add dolomite(calcium magnesium carbonate) to the mix, it buffers the peats acidity and adds the Ca and Mg.

Is this looking on track going into week 6?

The real big fans and some of the inner and lower stuff can show a little fade. If you aren't getting yellow and dropping until after first week of October, she should finish pretty strong.

Is this looking on track going into week 6?

Sweet looking plant. A nice open plant should perform well. I'm also in the NE and have found bushy plants turn into a giant blob of mildew.

50/50 Coco/Peat mix for base super soil

I don't see an issue using that mix, just add pulverized dolomite at about 5% of the total weight of peat for buffering. Base will be coco-peat-lime. Then whatever aeration you want, perlite-vermiculite-rice hulls-fine pummice...etc. Last the organics you choose, EWC-granular...

DIY PH Down from Sulfuric Acid. (Battery Acid)

Another reason I have found Athena suspect, their Fade is CaCl2 and it is used in rather large quantities. I figured since HCl was so strong it would add acceptable amounts of chloride to a solution. If I get bored I might crunch the numbers next time I mix a rez.

I’m curious what might be causing this.

Yes, you need to supply macros. Teas are supplements mostly designed to boost soil health by introducing beneficial microorganisms and sometimes hormones from extracts like alfalfa or kelp.

I’m curious what might be causing this.

If your soil is tired a tea isn't going add much, especially the macros. Teas are meant to be a supplement. Most people top dress fertilizer when they flip so the organics have time to break down and be ready for the heavy budding stage. If you're not running pure organics the, only thing that...

How to keep my super soil for next season

I used to put a tarp down, put four buckets on top and then a rest a box screen on those. I would dump the rootballs onto it with lime, granular fertilizer, compost, wormcastings...etc and then force it all through by hand. If it looked dense I would toss in some more perlite. That reamended mix...

I knew @Drop That Sound would probably show up, we had some fun air layering last season. Has anyone tried air layering for clones | Rollitup A water bottle with, coco, Promix, or sphagnum moss will work fine and allows for easy watering. On a side leaning position, I would jam sphagnum moss...

    Shotgun chamber with airstone?

So, I'm pleased to see that my PF cakes are already about half colonized, the UB bags are slow as hell. The vermiculite I ordered was coarse, so it seems like the mycelium is moving through it quickly. After doing some more research, it seems like most people use fine vermiculite. Does...
