    Elk River (GG4/Choc D. x 79 X-mas)

Started my trim job. This one's gonna be time-consuming. Lotta indica genes. But I'll get temps back up this weekend. The Elk River sprouts are barely growing. Keeping warm roots helps. But the mothers in the same tent are not overgrowing, so that's a side bonus. Not entirely sure which to...

Plant Cloning Issues, What's Going On?

Hopefully distilled helps. It will at least control a possible variable. I don't know the exact water temp. I typically keep my shop at about 20dC. I stick the aerocloner in a corner on the slab. The pump in the water creates some heat, I'm sure. But the water "feels cold." I'd be shocked if it...

Plant Cloning Issues, What's Going On?

What about your water source? And if tap water, is the municipality doing anything different? In my conditions, 23dC would cause a cottony white mold to grow on my stems.

Plant Cloning Issues, What's Going On?

I use an aerocloner. It is all that has worked reliably in my conditions: very arid. I keep the water coldish, probably no higher than 18dC. No dome, no gel, no powder. Pump runs continuously. After 10-14 days (strain-dependent), this: If you are in an arid environment, I suggest putting your...

    Elk River (GG4/Choc D. x 79 X-mas)

Taking to the compost in spite of the chill (lung room set to drying temps). Many of them are coming up like the F2. This one is different than I've seen before. Maybe more of the GG shining through? Here is the one that has the teal colorings, reminding me of the F1. Drying will be...

    Hey My Grow

Hehe. Reminds me of my daughter offering to buy seeds if I give her half the product. My response? "Honey, I put hundreds of hours and Kwh into this and you want half of it for handing out a few seeds?" She just didn't realize. Heh.

    Elk River (GG4/Choc D. x 79 X-mas)

Hit the keepers with a bit of soil, their first taste. Lots of these are potentials. Transplant isn't far off. I'm aiming for 12+ so I can be more sure to have at least four of each gender. The small teal plant reminds me of the F1! The older ones are doing well. I like this one.

    Elk River (GG4/Choc D. x 79 X-mas)

Thanks, man. I don't really know what to expect out of these F3s, so it's good to hear it's a nice spot to hunt. Just need it to have that same all-day functional high. It could stand a better flavor, but I suspect the flavor and high can't be separated. Might be interesting to try to improve...

    SIP thread -- (Sub-Irrigated Planter)

Filled the reservoirs for the last time today. One plant took most of a gallon after three days. The others took only a quart or so. The side branches are opening up. I'll harvest next weekend. The colors are due to cold, I think. I need to control nighttime temps better. I like the tight...

    Elk River (GG4/Choc D. x 79 X-mas)

Sprouting nicely enough, in spite of struggling to rebalance after the switch to GLR. I have enough here to work with. (You can see the center area overheated.) I am very new at this, and I tend to cull aggressively at first. I don't know how to tell if a trait is part of an allele or what...

Organic for new growers, dont bother with bottles...

I build homemade compost with local worms, insects, and bacteria, and input grass, produce, leaves, and alfalfa - all sourced from my own property. It powers my living soil by fostering a fungal-dominant medium. It's very hostile to seedlings, so I also have a box of Miracle Grow.

    AK Bean Brains

M10/Purest Indica. About eight weeks from flip now. Down to a quart of water per day. I cranked the lung room heater. Didn't realize it was getting down to 63 at night. I've read this can affect P uptake? Anyway, dropping leaves, but should finish alright. I plan to give them another week or...

    Fungus gnat experiment #569

Ugh, seeing that larvae makes me sick. I designed a whole new setup to beat those little f*ckers. Couldn't get any treatments to work reliably! Love the thread name. lol

    Elk River (GG4/Choc D. x 79 X-mas)

Had a minor setback and course correction. Left the heating mat on too long and fried the sprouts a bit. Then I switched the tent to GLR and they got cold. Poor buggers stalled bad. The mat is back on now. And I ordered another 2x2 tent, so I sprouted some more seeds. Coming up alright so far...

Probably don't "need" them, but they're not a bad idea. Roots end up growing through them, for what it's worth. The important hole (ahem) is the one that drains from above the fill line so you don't accidentally oversaturate your medium.

Soil mix for landrace sativa (indoors led)?

I plan to grow some Malawi soon, but I'm not there yet. Got a question for y'all. What is the thinking for the sand? Why not more peat or perlite? And are we talking coarse sand, or...?

    SIP thread -- (Sub-Irrigated Planter)

SIPS make soil easy, freals. Plants are dropping beautiful green leaves from the undergrowth. Not sure why. Drinking has slowed from a half-gallon per day to under a quart. Looking at the most ripe plant, it's hard to believe this is six weeks from flip. Even starting to swell. I usually take...

    Elk River (GG4/Choc D. x 79 X-mas)

Transplanted. Four or five of these are showing signs of the traits I look for (long first leaves and petioles, dusting of frost). Good showing for such a small sample. If these continue to show desirable traits, grow consistently with each other, and smoke how I want, I'll start a true hunt for...
