Here’s my golden tiger from Ace, a mix of Malawi and Thai. The leaves are nothing like an indica, I don’t care what any so called internet expert claims, it’s very obvious to any casual observer.
Here’s todays update. I looked for about ten minutes on all four plants and found two live thrips. They’re still there, but not gaining ground. The insecticidal soap seems to be working as advertised. The plants are developing well, I’m happy so far with the progress, especially considering...
Well I have not been keeping my journal up, but here’s a recap of my thrip issues that have happened.

Once I’ve finished with the thrips I’ll begin here again, but I wanted a marker here to say why the lapse of info and where to...
My point was if you grow a true land race sativa, say Malawi, Thai, Laos, Burmese, it will be VERY thin leafed, and absolutely be an energetic high without a doubt, so that is an absolute absolute. Not bro science in that aspect.
I don’t think you can jump to the conclusion that all plants with thinner leaves are sativa or all of them are more of a cerebral high, but you can imo say that it is a strong indicator. For instance, I have never seen a pure indica, or anything even claimed to be pure, that doesn’t have wide...
Just my two cents, but those are not anywhere near thin leaves or sativa looking. These are thin sativa leaves, and no where near the thin leaves from some of my sativas, just the first pic that popped up. This is not bro science but experienced growers talking, please get some experience...
I’ve now done three applications of insecticidal soap. I’m not claiming to have won the war, I’ve got weeks to go still so only time will tell, there are definitely eggs still hatching, that is a given. The soap only kills the live suckers. I will need at least one more application I’m sure...
Just wanted to jump in and say hi, I’ve been away working and life is just crazy, but one thing I missed was checking in here, glad to be back for a bit. At least I have someone to look after things when I’m gone, I’m very thankful for that. I’m not going to go back the last 25 pages to see...
I’ve still got them going but only because the replacements aren’t ready yet and works been crazy. I haven’t had much time for the plants. They still look ok, I’m glad I kept it up. The vigor of the Wagyu Donutz is crazy, but she craves mass nutes. The BOO is super dense bushy, now I can plan...
So far the soap seems to be working. I have been mainly spraying the leaves, trying to get top and bottom. It was 3 days from the first round, and after searching I found several thrips on leaves, I had a hard time finding one yesterday, so gave them another blast of soap today. Here is the...
I’ll toss some pics up later, I haven’t seen much progressing damage so I think the soap is working. A quick check under the leaves last night and I was able to find 2 or 3 live thrips, but that was looking for a good 10 minutes. I will spray the leaves again this afternoon as the eggs are...
I did remove a lot of leaves. When I first realized they were thrips I was really pissed and almost just ripped them all out of the sips and into the fire pit. I think with a few treatments I can get them to limp across the finish line ok, then it’s time to clean house. This is all my fault...
That sounds like a great idea. I can see myself trying to hold a 17 gallon sip with the 30” x 30” scrog nets upside down and swishing them around in my jacuzzi filled with insecticide soap. I can also hear my wife behind me as I do it. At least I actually laughed when thinking about it, thank...
I sampled a bit then looked at the underside of about 50 random leaves. I found 3 thrips, and couldn’t verify if they were alive before squishing, so I believe way less than before. I’m going to wait 2 days and spray again. I’ll keep you posted.
I have a ton of citric acid, I might try that if the soap doesn’t do anything. I gave the leaves a good soak then wiped the ones I could get to top and bottom with a soaked paper towel, read somewhere that helped some. I saw a couple then wiped and they were gone, either squished or dying in the...
Well I noticed some white spots on the leaves the other day and brushed it off as spray from when I foiler sprayed with SI or CalMag earlier. Today it had spread some, but I didn’t spray, and I realized right away my fears had come true. Worst thing is I knew better. I started my veggies in my...
