Question about using Gaia Green dry amendments

How much worm castings are you adding to you Pro Mix? Is that it as far as compost? Besides the Gia Green and Azomite, do you add anything else in there? I've been thinking about starting a new batch of soil, with Pro Mix+ All In One dry nutrients because it seems cheaper than other stuff. But...

    How Do You Feed

If you have enough stuff in your soil, and it's high in nutrients, you may not need to feed for a few weeks. Then when those nutes are used up you can feed however you normally do. How low is your calcium? If it's just a little low, your tap water might add enough calcium to grow plants OK...

Looking to mix my own soil similar to Bush Doctor Coco Loco

Add about 20% compost or earth worm castings. Or "Happy Frog Soil Conditioner" if you want to stick to Farm Farms stuff. Then find a balanced All -In -One dry fertilizer and add 2-3 tablespoons per gallon of soil mix. My favorite is "Down to Earth BioLive" (5-4-2). But there are lots of...

Vermiculite as a source of silica?

I was searching around and saw that several types of bacteria and fungus actively digest and break down the silica from clays like vermiculite and convert it to plant usable form. So if you've got microbes in your medium, the silica from vermiculite is probably cool. From the search Several...

Does anyone here grow with gai green living soil?

Yeah, what they said. Use the silica every time you water. And once a week use Recharge or Fish Stuff or some combination to keep your soil microbes working.

Running into some odd issues.. necrosis in leaves during flower. Possible hard water issues?

Soil is legit, but it does have limitations. How big are your pots? How long have your plants been in the pots? Have you added any nutrients or fed the plants in any way? It's possible everything is OK, and your plants are just hungry because they've consumed most the amendments in your soil.

    Raw brand silica

That will work fine for soil. Mix it into your water (about 1/4 teaspoon per gallon) then, water it into the soil. Maybe every watering, less if that seems like too much. For sure use in veg.

Plant Cloning Issues, What's Going On?

Excess Nitrogen can delay flowering. Too little phosphorus can leave your cuttings without the Energy to grow roots. I've seen a science guy (who sells nutrients) recommend a dose of flowering feed a week before taking clones. In my experience, low phosphorus shows up as purple stems that get...

Best ready made beneficial bacteria for root growth?

I agree about lacto bacillus and Teraganix EM-1. This stuff is cool because you can use it right out of the bottle, or add 1 cup EM-1 and 1 cup of molasses to a gallon of water and brew up a new Gallon. And from there you can continue the process forever and not have to buy anymore. A company...

Is the praying leaves a bad thing or good thing?

For sure wait! If you top too soon you'll stress out your plant and it will be all stunted or stop growing again. You for sure don't want that. And while you're waiting, think about not main-lining at all. I know it looks cool and it's fun to mess around when you're new, but I think it's...

Is the praying leaves a bad thing or good thing?

In my opinion, Praying leaves are the plant's way of asking for more light. Flat, wide stretched leaves are the plant showing the amount of light is adequate. Droopy leaves mean too much light and the leaves are trying to hide. If your little plant was water-logged, stunted and struggling...

When the leaves turn yellow in late flower

That's the way I understand it, plants pull less and less out of the medium as you get to the end of flowering. And I believe this is backed up by the study of Flushing. There wasn't much difference between plants given nutrients or no nutrients during the last couple weeks. Like the plant...
