it depends on what method of growing you are wanting to do. if you are wanting to grow the full plant than no but if you are wanting to do a sea of green method than yes. it is all up to you. do some reserch and see what sort of method you want to do.

i have not tried LED's but there was a section in the questions and answers at the back of the high times mag that was talking about them and goerge said he went to a grow show in spain and there was a man there that made LED's for growing and he had proof that his worked. i dont know if it did...
