I've never used the fabric smart pots but I've read up on them, because the sides let plenty of air through it "air prunes" the roots so they can't really become root bound, so If it was me, i would go with a minimum 5 gal pot, upto 10 gal, then your mother has got enough room to get a good root...

Try to tie strings to something above plant then tie a loop around the branch. If the stem is split just put some tape around it and it'll fix itself. It's annoying, but it's a good problem to have when you're buds are too heavy lol :clap:

I think that's the best way to check if they need a watering, it can be dry the top 2" and still wet below that, so as moondance said feel out the weight of your pots, your roots look for water when it's getting dry so they grow bigger/stronger.

If the leaves are damaged, they will stay damaged nothing you can do about that now. Can u put photos up of it to give a better idea of the problems
