Quick question... I can't find solid core hook-up wire - can I use stranded for a couple weeks until I manage to get some 'solid? It's 20g, stranded... 2 x 304 boards in parralel on a HLG-120H-C1400B, will have it dimmed to 20w to start some seedlings?

Hey guys, Finally got my light up and running and trying to figure out how close to run the light to the plants and at what power.... so I bought a lumen meter! I've read heaps of different opinions on how many watts to give plants at various stages and distances, and it's all very confusing...

Hey guys, About try cloning for the first time... I grow in my bedroom, and while the actual grow chamber in my wardrobe is totally silent, I'm not sure what style of cloner to go with. I'd like to use an aerocloner because I read they create the best root system... or bubble cloner is meant...

Quick question regarding the HLG-120H-C1050A I just received... so it has a little rubber plug that I can remove to access a screw that adjusts the internal pot... can this be adjusted while the light is running?

I'd really like to get a pre-order in... I already have two boards for 1 cab and want another 3 boards for 2 other cabs, happy to pay in full and wait however long it takes.

Hey all, I read that the Meanwell HLG-120H-C1050A can be dimmed 100% ----> 50%. The driver outputs 120w max... can I run it at 70-80w? Is the dimming 50% through to 100%.... or is it like an on/off? Thanks!

@NapalmD : Impressive looking plants, man... I thought I'd read you saying before that you were running them really close to the plants, that's why I was keen to hear how close other guys were running them. I guess different strains can take different amounts of light, they certainly don't look...

Yeah, small COBs run soft is a good option... I just like QBs because they're so easy to wire up. Thanks for the info, Chef :) I think one QB on its lowest setting should work... @robincnn : What's the lowest wattage these boards can be run at? And what driver would you recommend for that...

Haven't started my grow yet... I bought my light a few months ago, but I've got a holiday booked for the end of the month and didn't want to rush things, so I'll be popping my seeds when I get back. All these grow reports that are coming through has me chomping at the bit! :P

There is a guy on ICMAG called MrSparkle running a perpetual grow with 2 PC cases around 20" in height, he has about 8 plants per PC... I think his secret to keeping the plants small is that he uses 400ml smart pots... he gives his plants 2-3wks veg and flowers at 3-4", it's truly an impressive...

@ChaosHunter : Thanks for that info, mate... I've got the B verson driver with a pot installed, the kill-a-watt says 22w for 2 boards on low. Hopefully I can run the light pretty close, will just have to adjust to the plants ability to handle the light, I guess.

Hey mate, I've got the same driver and 2 boards, but only have 2.75 of floor space, and only 3ft in height... from what I've read running it at 100w will be enough. Given my lack of height, I'm also interested in SOG from clone, would love to see more pics of your grow if you're willing to show...

Just contact @robincnn, he built my 2 board light, I think it's the one on the 1st page, 2 boards, 165w on full and 22w fully dimmed, $300 all in (or there abouts)... connecting the wago connectors is easy, I just posted a pic of how I'd connected it up in this thread and Stephen pointed out it...
