I have had surprising success with predators, both ladybugs and predatory mites. But I have also heard people say that washing them off with a hose will get rid of them and apparently that didn’t work for you.

I sprayed the plant with peroxide from a drugstore, the same stuff that people spray on minor wounds for first aid. I used enough to cover the small weed, just like I would use an herbicide.

Bud rot, maybe? I think that mildew is more of a problem on leaves. We got a little bit of it in our grow tent earlier this winter.

Peroxide can damage leaves a bit. I tested some on a dandelion once. It didn’t kill the plant but it did cause some damage to the foliage.
