Baking soda safe to raise PH

It works, but not preferable. The sodium ion isn't going to help. Go with Potassium Bicarbonate instead or even Potassium Hydroxide. Your plants will appreciate it.

    New grower needs Help

I suspect a weak light is most of your problem. What do you have over that girl?

Outdoors season and powdery mildew. Any solution?

My regrets to the community for posting a treatment that is potentially damaging to your plants. I was WAY off on the concentration, which I have to look up every time I mix a batch, but failed to do so before posting above. The research from these articles provides guidance...

Outdoors season and powdery mildew. Any solution?

Mix 3 tbsp. of potassium bicarbonate, or better: ammonium bicarb, 3 tbsp. vegetable oil, and 1/2 tsp. dish soap into a gallon of water. Spray onto affected plants.

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

I want to build a veg light for a 1-ft x 4-ft space using bridgelux strips, and it’s been a while since I’ve learned how to match everything up so would appreciate experiential input. Wish I could get the gen 2 version, but lead time is months so I assume the next best option is the gen 3...

Get your Geek on and control your grow room with Arduino!

Exactly what I'm looking for -- Thanx!

    UV Suppliment Lighting

The 34-in tubes are 39w. As you point out, I'll lose a LOT of UV by putting the tubes above my strips. Maybe I should have gone with the 25w T8?

Get your Geek on and control your grow room with Arduino!

I'm just getting started using a raspberry pi with various sensors to monitor my grow room, but would like to leverage the rpi to control temp/humidity and to switch the lights, but am obviously getting into high power territory. Which relays are you folks using to switch high power devices...

    UV Suppliment Lighting

I can say from experience, you have to be somewhat careful with these Reptisun UVBs. I tried using this same config two grows ago, last winter, and was rewarded when both plants hermi'd and I ended up with a fully seeded canopy. Having a 1/2 pint jar of fem Durban Poison seeds is great, but I...

    UV Suppliment Lighting

I think I mined this thread sufficiently to get an idea how to get started, but I'd appreciate a reality check. I have a 2' x 4' scrog canopy with 400w of bridgelux 4000'K strips over it, and I've embedded a 34" Reptisun T5 HO UVB at the same level as the strips. I haven't been able to find...

    Yield estimation??

What everyone is trying to get across through sarcasm or denigration, is that it's not possible to even give a guess. A good grower could easily pull a half kilo from that space and with those lights, but how good of a grower are you? Show pics about 6 weeks into flower and you'll get some...

    Changing light cycle

Just leave them on a 24-hr dark cycle then start your 12-hr light cycle from there. Not gonna hurt anything.

Looking for a Sativa dom strain

I'm stoked as well. I've been on the hunt for 2 years and feel like the Thai might be it, so No plans to test -- I've had an unknown strain in the past that was high, so, Yeah! I expect I'll be able to tell -- but if/when I find something, I might have it tested just to verify.

Looking for a Sativa dom strain

Yeah, I've douched my girl with S Ag fungicide and 25 mM Ammonium Bicarb, and it's kept in semi-check, but I should have hit them in anticipation rather than remediation. The crap had already taken hold so now it's a constant, uphill battle. Next year....

Looking for a Sativa dom strain

No, not bad at all. I want to do a run in hydro to see what it can really do. If one can control the botrytis and PM, it could be a killer strain. Not-so-coincidently -- I'm on the hunt for THCV -- I have 2 x Wild Thai in my hydro right now. 4.5 weeks and flipped to 12/12 4 days ago.

Looking for a Sativa dom strain

I have one of these critters in my outdoor bed now for the first time. 10-ft tall, moderate xmas tree branching, and thick, heavy buds that are susceptible to fungal infections. It won't finish before the end of Oct, so not a quick flowering strain. It may be a 9-10 week finisher, but it didn't...

    Seeds and more seeds

Yup. That's what a commercial grower shared after I whined about my screw-up: "You have to wiped *everything* down with a wet sponge."

    Seeds and more seeds

Unfortunately, this is not true. I was given this misguided information and ended up with a fully seeded grow room 6 months after a female hermied, and this was after I ozoned and misted the room. From my experience, pollen remains viable for many months.

PM 3 weeks away from harvest

I'm with you guys. I'm douching my girl with S. Ag BT mixed with bicarb salt tonight. Starting to see small spots of rot and would really like to keep her going 'til the end of the month, if possible. FWIW, a couple of papers I've seen (here's one...
