1 month plants - Checkup - Nitrogen Toxicity? - Ppm & Ph Dropping

Wow that's some nice fast growth. Yeah mine are still within volleyball size about. The sativa has a bent main stem due to issues with her germinating, so she'd be taller than she actually is, which is only about 6 inches. They're filling out pretty nice though. The height seems to be going...

1 month plants - Checkup - Nitrogen Toxicity? - Ppm & Ph Dropping

Here are a few more photos. The 1st is the indica, showing what looks like N toxciity and nute burn. The next two are the sativa, showing what looks like nute burn.

1 month plants - Checkup - Nitrogen Toxicity? - Ppm & Ph Dropping

Yeah they're from seed. Do you spot the nute burn in the photos I uploaded? I'm just going by reference on the net, it looks like nute burn, I haven't seen any other deficiencies start by whitening/yellowing of the tips like that. I'm sure you're right though, I mean I know they need to be...

1 month plants - Checkup - Nitrogen Toxicity? - Ppm & Ph Dropping

Oh yeah? Hungry? Yup, using all three parts. 1ml per litre. Like I said, I added 2ml per on the indica a few weeks ago, but it seemed too much, the plant wilted all down one night, so I doubled the water to dilute the res and by morning it looked fine. It's been growing crazy ever since. I...

1 month plants - Checkup - Nitrogen Toxicity? - Ppm & Ph Dropping

Hmm, was just reading online a bit...I'm going to empty both buckets and add plain water for a few days. I'll have a few days to consider how strong to make the nutes when I add them then. I think I'll flip them over to flower in a few days when I add the nutes. The larger plant is about 8...

1 month plants - Checkup - Nitrogen Toxicity? - Ppm & Ph Dropping

Yeah it's definitely got some nitrogen toxicity. The top new leaves of the indica plant are all curled down. Should I empty the res and just add plain water for a few days? ....Then in a few days add nutes again? I added half strength veg nutes originally to that res, but the plant responded...

1 month plants - Checkup - Nitrogen Toxicity? - Ppm & Ph Dropping

Our well water is good quality overall, as far as i know, it tastes good and we haven't had any issues, though we do need to get the filter replaced. All I know really about the quality is the ppm reading, which is below 200 out of the tap. When I change the res next week, I'm going to use the...

1 month plants - Checkup - Nitrogen Toxicity? - Ppm & Ph Dropping

2 plants, about 1 month age, both in single 5g dwc buckets. 1 300w led lamp for each plant, about 20 inches high. water (well water) temps 70-74, tent temps 74-76 (much cooler at night), seedling strength nutes. I'm adjusting ph to 5.8 every morning. They've taken off recently and are...

Question about measuring and estimating ppm

Great info. Helps me a lot. I appreciate it :leaf:

TDS meter stabilization and proper levels

I found a site that says advanced nutrients uses the 700 scale, but i don't see anything about feeding and ppm numbers on my bottles or on their website. The only dosing instructions they give are ml per gallon. So because they use 700 scale, my measurement of 400 ppm right now is actually...

TDS meter stabilization and proper levels

Do you mean 900ppm? I had this same question in a thread I started a few hours ago, wondering if I should subtract the tap starting ppm from the nute total ppm I'm going for. So right now my res is around 400ppm, and my tap water began at 200ppm. That means my nute ppm is only 200, right...

Question about measuring and estimating ppm

I'm in early to mid veg stage, and my res are both 400ppm and a little above, which is fine for me right now. My question is about determining the right amount of nutes to add, taking into consideration my starting tap water ppm...which is a little under 200. I know it isn't ideal using well...

Is changing res water in dwc really necessary?

How long do you veg for? I was planning on beginning flower when they're a bit less than a foot. I'd like to keep them on the smaller size. One is 6 inches already now

Is changing res water in dwc really necessary?

I'm just looking to get a modest yield, probably won't be doing anything more than single pot hydro or soil. I'd like to try soil next, just to compare. Seems it may be a bit cheaper overall doing soil. Loving the way the hydro is working though, seeing the white roots expanding into open...

Is changing res water in dwc really necessary?

That makes sense. My plants are only a bit over 3 weeks, so they aren't taking in much nutrition yet. I've changed the res once and twice on the other, but probably could have just gone the whole first month without a full res change. The ppms are only slowly dropping, so I haven't felt like...

    Plain water

You won't need to ph the water until you are adding nutes. Are you doing dwc? Usually you only top off the res to maintain the water level you want.

Is changing res water in dwc really necessary?

Theoretically, if you're keeping the water clean and roots healthy, couldn't you just keep adding fresh water to the res? ...along with nutes and (hydroguard) ... maintaining desired ph and ppm. For how much the plants drink later in their lifespan, it seems to me the water would be...

Is this the Beginning of Iron Deficiency?

Yeah the reservoirs did rise back up to 6.2 overnight. I dropped it to 5.5. I'll just do that every morning. Next time around I will be using nutes other than ph perfect. I have a ppm meter coming to test the water Just from changing the ph yesterday though...the plants look much better...

Is this the Beginning of Iron Deficiency?

Well the roots have looked fine throughout, just the rez water in my last cycle before sealing the light off was a bit funky smelling. The roots have been white throughout, no smell on them.
