Males have balls that grow in clusters some plants have pistils that may look like one ball but is only a pistil about to sprout two hairs. You will know it is a female when two hair s sprout but chances are it is a male if GROUPS of balls are at the leaf axils.

Hey that happened to me too. I think it just accelerates during veg and if you dont put it into flowering they get too high and if you do put it into flowering you will have skinnier stems. Dont worry the stems should thicken as flowering continues. harvest when all trichs are the way you want...

Yeah it could be a male but most male balls grow in clusters. Wait a couple more days to a week to see if any white hairs grow put of them they could be pistils.

Oh and the water should not go any higher than 1 inch to the top of the media make sure you have an oxygenic device that feed the plant oxygen for good root growth.

Thte 16 ounce cups are prob just for seeed startings. I would just to be on the safe side to get a five gallon because it has enough space for veg and flowering growth. that mix is ok but for hydro try to hav a little more peat pellets compared to others you are mixing in. Good luck.
