I think 78 is sufficient with this light having 660nm red. The plants can actually feel it even at 28" above them. My leaf temps are only a few degrees cooler then the room. Room 86F LST 82F I believe you want LST of 74-86F. From what I've read. I've only had the temp gun for a few...

So lights been on 2.5 hours. With 1 fan blowing across. Average reading 108F. I did find a hot spot on the under side towards the back at 120F. Leaf temp on plants averages 75F with light 22" away. Hope this helps. At least I know now I'm not frying anything yet

Guess if I want a chance to win I have to play.... Picked up a Mars Hydro ts1000 last year. Has removable driver and dimmer switch. I like having the option to keep the driver separate and having the dimmer switch hung at a convenient spot. My experience so far has been great for my needs...

The middle encasing that I assume house the driver does not get very warm. The top of each light bar is what got HOT for me. But I had no fan on it. With a small 6" fan, it has stayed fairly cool... and to be fair I never had the best air flow. My thermo gun came today so I will update a couple...

    New light brought new heat!!

Well I'm happy to say with all the advise I think I got it whipped. -added active intake ( I can't make larger passive holes) -arranged 3 x 6" fans inside to move the heat more effectively -replaced a noticeably dirty pre filter for the exhaust -made and added a deflector for my heat vent...
