ya hydro is easy too, id say hydro is a little harder and for me there was plenty to dial in just to get my environment good with the lights etc, so it was nice to just put the plants in dirt and not have to set up a hydro deal at the same time. Do you have one of the fans sucking the air from the grow room and the other fan blowing thru the light(s)? If so, I would have the one sucking from the room always on. And the one that blows thru the lights can just be on when the lights are on, probably on the same timer.

I have cured a couple spider mite problems using Take Down spray, i found the trick to be to totally drench every spot on every leaf and stem till its dripping off, a mist isnt enough. I am talking about a few spiders, i dont know about when they are fully set up with webs etc.
