i haven`t tried that, but when i suggested it to my grow shop, that is what the owner told me. he has never steered me wrong yet. it has something to do with the way the roots have formed for the nute uptake.

you can go from dirt to hydro but you can`t go from hydro to dirt. like bradburry said you need to clean the roots the best you can.

jiji to get your water tested call your local ag agent for your state or county, they should do it or point you in the right direction. i use these guys for a lot of things even pest control questions. they are there for anything related to farming and live stock.
