what are you using to test ph? a digi meter needs to be calibrated often. the vial and drop test kit from petco is very accurate and cheep 7-8 buks. hot water can be a prob for hydro. freeze a few bottoles of water and drop them in the res. to lower temps.

yea I agree with dannyboy, over dose!! the soil may not be top quality either, looks a little compact an has hardly any perlite. maybe a better soil would help.
