I use a Febreze TrueAir filter plugged into the powerbar for my lights. It does a good job of keeping the smell down in a small room and has a fan so it moves the air around too. The filters are flat and would would perfectly if you poke holes in the corners and zapstrap them to the fan housing...

I'm getting to the point where I need to start thinking about an air filter. I figured I'd get some bulk charcoal and some screen and make up a bin with the inlet at the bottom and the outlet at the top so the air has to percolate through the carbon. Plus it ought to be easy to change that way...

I'm an absolute newb on my first grow...so take this FWIW. The advice I got was to start at 3 weeks from sprout with a weak solution. I grew from seed in a pellet as well then planted the pellet into a big pot under CFLs. Grow thread is in my sig.
