    Low Yield. Why?!

Just be careful with that advice . I've run lower than 15 and got away with it with some plants but not others. My last crop was 100% crippled by the cold. My min is now set to 17 and the same plants ( from same mother) are flourishing. Same tank, food, pH. I would add, I know nothing about his...

Anyone else grow "old school" - i.e weaker strains

Last time I saw a chap, who knows a chap (think famous motorbike gang), I was shown 12 different types, varying prices. From sensible, to quite/very expensive (buying in "proper" quantities) . Bought three different types. One sent me to sleep. One was MAD, and one, quite lovely. No soap, or...

Anyone else grow "old school" - i.e weaker strains

Plenty of hash still coming into the uk, I can assure you. Nothing to do with me, but , I can assure you, there is plenty out there. Cali China sounds interesting.....

    Low Yield. Why?!

Below is a crop when the temps are warm, and it never drops much below 15 at night. Then below, is my cold grow thsi winter, with 3 more weeks flowering too. Notice on the front plants how the leaves have gone straight up? - (Mandala #1). The rears followed some time later (Bubblegum...

    Low Yield. Why?!

400W MH for grow, 600W HPS for flower. (about 620w draw). Standard stuff. I've got LEDs but they are unusable in the UK cold months (in an outbuilding grow tent). Just not enough heat. I've not done a full LED grow yet. I'm planning on doing one this summer (start in mid June) in my indoor tent...

Anyone else grow "old school" - i.e weaker strains

The main reason I grow is to enjoy old school highs. I smoked UK available stuff for ages - cheese, super skunk etc, then one day realised I was just battered, and not actually enjoying it. It also made me anxious. So now I have Master Kush, Hindu Kush, Purple Bud, Mandala #1, Blueberry. All of...

UK best place to buy seeds in the UK?

Seedsman. They also sent me a replacement pack of NL when the first lot went hermi.

    Wet vs Dry trimming

I have done both: I find wet trim faster and easier - I use a trimming machine (you know, the dome with the spinning blades). However, you need to cure it properly to get the smell right. With dry trim (hang entire plant, minus fan leaves) you get bud that tastes and smells right immediately...

    Low Yield. Why?!

Grown for years. Just completed a low temp grow for the first time. Lows of 6c at night (air). Nft res kept at 20. Bud growth slowed considerably on one strain. Stopped altogether on another , even after adding emergency heating ( which get one strain going again). Mandala #1 hates the cold...

What's the longest time you can keep your res without topping off?

Two nft tanks gt24 and gt100. GT100 (100l ) auto topped up from a 120l water butt. Fresh water. I use a mini ATO auto top up system. My water is fairly soft. The plants drink a lot of water, I just add nutes once a week and pH down twice a week. 4 or so ml each time brings it down from 6.5 to...

    Clones taking .... waiting game

The look perfectly healthy. I'd not be opening / splitting them to look. You really don't want to disturb microscopic root formations. Clones really are easy. It's just a patience game. The main things to go wrong, and it's not hard to avoid: 1) Too wet media - damp to mildly wet it great. -...

    Clones taking .... waiting game

Might be too damp in there. Far too early for roots at 2 days. p.s. 125 watts is more than you need. The more light, the slower the rooting process (or so I've read). I clone under a 40w CFL, at height. pps, you aren't pulling them out to check for roots are you? The burried stem will brown

    Clones taking .... waiting game

Those are nice big healty cuttings! They should root within a week, two at most. You can't really tell until you notice either new growth, or roots showing! In my experience with cuttings: small cuttings - i..e two main leaves, and a top, with a fairly weedy stem - can take up to two weeks to...

Anyone SCROGGED their canopy during the stretch?

My girls are healthy, and the right height for switch to flowering. However, I have two corners to fill yet, by training them along the scrog netting. (tank is diagonal for access reasons) Usually - I wait a few days and then train the tops that have gone too high. Sometimes gently, sometimes...

How many plants can I fit in a 4x4 grow tent comfortably?

All of this ^^^^^ 4x4 tent - I can train 4 plants under a scrog net to fill nearly all of the space. Put a 5th in the middle and you don't have to train the others out so far to reach the edges. I've just tried 12 plants in a SOG and failed quite miserably due to cold weather and mixing...

    Buds stalled growing

A little closre on this. I'm certain its temperature now. Bubblegum pro at the back are continuing to bud - albeit quite slowly. Mandala #1 at the front are still stalled, and now the leaves are going deep purple - a good sign of too cold. Seems cold is most likely, and the Bubblegum is more...

Plants seem to be stalled, Hermie?

You'll know when you have hermies, trust me. "hmm, what ARE they?" - small yellow bannanas.... shit! They are really obvious. Proper miniscule bananas. Had them with one batch of seeds. Nightmare. Just caught them before too much damage to the ladies. Remaining seeds in bin.

Main stem split 8 weeks into flower

I snapped amn upper branch on a plant that left it hanging by a thread of fibre. Literally just a thread. Duct taped it, and it healed like nothing had happened!
