I think you could easily grow 2 plants in this tent...4 if you wanted to push it. I would go with some cree 18 watt led bulbs instead of the cfls, better light, less electricity and cooler. It will be interesting to see how the led you got off ebay does in this tent, but it looks like it should...

I guess to answer the question 'are they worth the expense compared to other options' it just depends on what your options are. If you are a diy kinda of guy...your best bet expense wise is build your own unit or units. There are all kinds of choices out there now for led's and only more to come...

How hot was it getting in your small box with that many watts of cfl's? It had to be hot if you kept it shut.

I agree smoken...I recently got a refurb blackstar 100 watt ufo on ebay for $42, but it is not as intense as my 32 watt kessil. I use one H150 magenta, T5's & cfl's to round out the light in my box. Going to replace the cfl's with this blackstar (or some cree bulbs) shortly to try and eliminate...

nice lookin cab...what kind of lighting are u using? my cabinet is 18x14x36 and obviously has very similar dimensions to yours. the pic is from my 1st grow in this cab and I just started some Columbian Gold for the old schoolers out there!

True....but you're already getting a lot of red spectrum from the hps and using 6500k & 5000k would balance it out with blue and white.

I'd use all 6500k or 5000k with that hps.

Does that 70 watt hps get very hot in the cab....what are your temps like in there with all those lights?

Should be a good yield.
