are you using a carbon filter ? if not then it should be hood to fan and out . no ducting to your hole for intake. if using a carbon filter then filter to hood and out, no ducting to intake. you can run isolated which would be intake hole, ducting to light ducting to fan then out of tent. with...

no I have passive intake IE just an open vent about 8inches. air comes in is circulated then is drawn thru carbon filter then out of the tent

I have one 6 inch fan. It draws through carbon filter and out of tent. intake is passive. my light is 600 watts hid. tent 3x3x7. if you have air cooled hood you could go filter to hood then out with a passive intake. hope that makes some sort of sense.

1 cycle shouldn't hurt ya. I've heard of people losing a couple cycles with no effect due to equipment failure.

just have to make sure lamp cord from hood fits ballast. or get and adapter. and make sure you have lamp with a base that fits hood
