Hell yeah man. Bury like half the smart pot n ull have them coming out the bottom n sides. More roots = bigger plants lol. Wish mine coulda rooted in, woulda doubled the size easy. Those smart pots are amazing too even alone. I'll never go back too plastic ones for my final pots.

There was roots laying user the pots at the end of the year but they just layed under it n didn't go into the ground. I could move them just by grabbing the stock n walking away lol
